Only at arrival did I learn the difference between the US in books and the US in reality. I was hosted by an ordinary American family for about a month. Never before had I lived in someone else’s home for that long. So nicely was I treated by my host parents that I felt just like being in my own home. Not until the time of leaving, did I realize how much I was attached to them. Hardly had I been away from them when I started to miss them. It was a wonderful experience that it has since been one of my most cherished memories.
