Step 1 Lead-in (pre-listening)
1. Greeting
T: Today we’ll learn U6 integrated skills together. First, please look at the screen, who is it?
T: Yes. It’s Doraemon. Do you like it? Me too. I like Doraemon as well.
What do you think of Doraemon?
T: Great. You know much about it. It is clever and helpful.
T: Do you want to be a helpful person like Doraemon?
T: I am quite happy that you are all willing to help others.
2. Read the map
T: Now, Miss Ren has some trouble. Can you help me?
T: Look, here is a map. Do you know where Wuxi is?
T: Yes, it is here. It is in East China.
T: Then, what about Wulumuqi?
T: Yes. Here it is. Which part is it in China?
T: Yes. It is in North-west China.
T: What about Guizhou?
T: Great. It’s here, in South-west China.
T: Here are some pictures of the students in South-west China. What do you think of them?
T: Yes. They are very poor. They don’t have new clothes, bright classrooms or delicious food.

T: Don’t worry. Doraemon will help us to be a good helper, a good volunteer. Here he gives us

Step 2 While-listening
1. Listen and choose
T: Let’s start with being a good listener. Peter’s cousin Judy is telling him about a volunteer
project. Listen carefully and help Peter choose the correct answers. You can find the questions
on P87 Part A1.
T: Let’s check answers. Good job.
Guessing
T: Now we’ve learned something about Judy and her volunteer project. What else do you want to
know?
T: Good questions. I am also curious about them.

Step 5 A good watcher
1. Enjoy a short video
T: You all did a good job. You have reached level 1-- to be a good listener. Now let’s turn to level
-- to be a good watcher. Enjoy a short video and try to the good deeds.
T: A quite interesting video, right? So how many good deeds can you remember?

To be a good volunteer, what you need to do is to be a good actor. Just as the song says we are
the world, we are the children, we are the one to make a brighter day. Let’s start giving.
T: And just as the video shows, if you give others a bunch of flowers, you will receive another
flower. Just as Doraemon says “Roses given, fragrance (香味) in hand.” Let’s be helpful people
in our daily life. Listen carefully to others’ problems, say good things to others, watch carefully
to give a helping hand in time, and most importantly, be an actor. Action speaks louder than
words.
