Our class has decided to put on a short English play. But having rehearsed several times, we’re not sure about our pronunciation and the dialogue. To make our show a success, we sincerely invite you to be our oral instructor so that we can get your specific directions. I wonder if you will be available this Sunday afternoon, when we will rehearse in Classroom 201. We’d appreciate it if you could make it there at 3 pm.2-1-c-n-j-y

M: Yes. So where is the park where we’re going to have the picnic?
W: It’s on East Bell Street, across from the City Zoo, next to a museum.
2. M: Every boy and every girl is going to climb the mountain tomorrow. Can I go with them, Mum?
W: I’m afraid not. Wait till you’ve finished reading the book, dear.
3. W: I was afraid that it would be difficult to make friends since I’m new here at school. Thank
you for having a party to introduce me to your friends.
M: My pleasure. Everyone was anxious to meet you.
4. M: If you had shot the ball but not passed it to Jessie at the very last moment, we might not
have lost the game.
W: I’m sorry, Mr. Anderson, It’s all my fault.
5. M: Home at last! That was the last time we had a holiday in the Lake District.
W: It was beautiful! At least it didn’t snow.

M: I went to the zoo yesterday for the first time in about ten years. It was awesome!21cnjy.com
W: Really? What was so great about it?
M: I guess it made me feel like a kid again. I just got really excited to see all these animals that I
remember from my childhood.
W: But it’s not like you haven’t seen them in a long time or anything. Don’t you watch nature shows on TV?
M: Yeah, sometimes. But it’s totally different to see them up close, and to hear them and smell them…
W: Smell them? Yuck! Not my idea of a good time.
M: Oh, come on! Everyone loves the zoo.
W: Not me. If I want to see some animals, I’ll just turn on the Discovery Channel!

W: Umm, well, I don’t think I can start on Monday. I am visiting my father in Baltimore. And because I don’t live in New York, I’ll need a couple of days to find a flat and buy some furniture and move my things from Avon.
M: Oh, well then, in that case I suppose Wednesday will be good. OK, see you then!【版权所有:21教育】

W: Wonderful! I have to tell you that we are very impressed with your basketball scores. If you come here, I’m sure you can work out a scholarship.
M: That’s great!
W: Now, your grades aren’t as high this year as they were last year, especially in math and English. Why is that?
M: Well, I’ve been focusing a lot more on ball than on school, but I know I can do better. I promise you that if I come here, I will take schoolwork very seriously.21*cnjy*com

Good morning, everyone. It’s good to see you all here today. I believe some of you once dreamed of becoming famous. I was one of you. Now I’d like to share my story with you. As a young actor, I first arrived in Los Angeles in 1984. I saw the shining lights of the city as the plane landed and I felt excited as the first step that would lead me to fortune got under way. I imagined that the development of my dream would move smoothly, and soon I would be one of the best-known faces on cinema screen throughout the world. I was confident in my first performance in 1986. I knew the lead role was perfect for me. I was anxious to become well-known. But when they offered me a small role, I saw that my plans for quick success had been ruined. Over the years I tried out for other roles, but I never got a good part. Sometimes I thought of giving up. Five years later, I found myself working in the offices of a movie company. And eventually I ended up as a manager of this company after years of hard work.
