This is the first period of the unit.Students should learn how to ask for information in polite ways in this unit.The teacher should get them to learn the main structure-objective clause with wh-word and get the students to practice it in listening and speaking.The class starts with places in a city and things that people do in these places.Then help them come to oral practice about asking the way and asking for information.At this step we usually don't tell them the structure.Our focus is on language listening and speaking.

In this period,we should practice the key points more in reading and speaking activities.And students should know the main structure in this unit.Remind them of the differences between a special question and a polite question which usually has an objective clause.We can show the differences on PPT and let the students compare them and then learn them.
After they learn how to make a polite question,students can practice grammar by using what they have learned in different activities.And we'd better give them some written work after speaking and reading.So as homework,we can ask them to write a conversation about “asking and telling the way to the museum” politely.

In this period,the most important thing is reading.And also we learn how to use appropriate and polite requests as well as we make a request correctly.It is a good time to train the students' ability of reading quickly and efficiently.Today's reading task is to find the topic sentences for the paragraphs.So the teacher gives the topic sentences before they read the passage and then gets them to read the passage and tell which sentence is for the paragraph.And students should learn the culture and learn how to make polite requests after they have read the text.
After reading,we can talk about the reading passage and discuss some questions to check how well the students learn from the passage.Students are given some written work to do after class.
