一、教学目标(Teaching aims)
帮助学生学习Look and learn中的生词。
通过Listen and say的对话,帮助学生掌握句型How long does it take to get to... from ... by ...? It takes about …。
通过Ask and answer的问答练习让学生操练核心句型,通过信息差活动,实现语言的意义性操练和运用。
二、教学重难点(Teaching points and difficulties)
词汇:capital, north, east, west, south, in the north of, in the east of
句型:How long does it take to get to Shanghai from Beijing by train? It takes about five hours.

四、教学过程(Teaching process)
Pre-task preparations
1. 先让学生说说暑假的旅游活动,介绍旅游城市,如北京,并出示北京的图片补充说明北京是中国的首都。
T: How was your summer holiday?
S1: It was fun. I went to Beijing with my parents. We went to the Great Wall, Tian’anmen Square and the Palace Museum.
T: (show a picture of Beijing on the blackboard) This is Beijing. Beijing is the capital of China.
2. 让学生举例说出中国其它著名的城市,出示相关城市如上海、杭州等图片,让学生根据图片,猜猜是哪个城市。
T: Please name some other famous cities in China.
S1: Shanghai, Hangzhou.
T: Look, this is Nanjing Road. Which city is it?
S2: It’s Shanghai.
While-task procedures
1. 出示世界地图,指出著名的城市如巴黎、伦敦等,出示相关的图片和词汇Paris、London、France、the UK,让学生将这些城市和相应的国家进行配对。板书单词 capital,领读句子,学生齐读。
T: Paris is the capital of France. London is the capital of the UK.
问学生Which city is the capital of China?板书 Beijing is the capital of China.,让学生齐读句子。
2. 出示中国地图,先让学生找出北京和上海所在的位置,出示板书并让学生齐读句型 Beijing is in the north of China. Shanghai is in the east of China.出示 Look and learn 的方位图并教学单词,让学生拼读。然后出示世界地图,让学生找出伦敦、东京所在的位置,试着说一说它们的方位。
S1: London is the capital of the UK. It’s in the ... of the UK.
3. 出示表格,播放Listen and say录音,要求学生根据录音内容先完成表格中的信息,引出句型 How long does it take to get to Shanghai from Beijing by train?

4. 播放Listen and say的录音,学生模仿朗读,分角色读,齐读。
Post-task activities
1.出示Ask and answer的表格内容,让学生开展对子活动。发给每组学生两张表格,让学生根据信息差,通过问答交流获取自己所要的信息,完成表格。

Pre-task preparations
1. 出示挂图,让学生看图对话。
S1: How long does it take to get to Tokyo from Beijing by plane?
S2: It takes about three and a half hours.
2. 让学生介绍自己了解的一些著名的城市,如北京、伦敦等,主要介绍它们是哪国的首都或城市,所在的方位以及标志性建筑等。
S1: In August, Peter and his family went to London by plane. It took about eleven hours to get to London from Beijing. London is the capital of the UK. They visited Big Ben and the British Museum. Big Ben is old. The British Museum is big. They had a lovely time.
While-task procedures
1. 出示著名城市东京、伦敦的图片,向学生介绍东京是日本的首都,伦敦是英国的首都,板书句子,学生齐读。
T: Tokyo is the capital of Japan. London is
the capital of the UK. (write Tokyo is the capital of Japan. London is the capital of the UK. on the blackboard)

2. 出示Look and read的语段和相关句子,要求学生阅读语段,将语段与主题句配对。
Beijing is the capital of China.
Tokyo is the capital of Japan.
London is the capital of the UK.

places. They like visiting the Great Wall too. People there love eating dumplings.
B You can find many museums there. People there love eating fish and chips.

3. 出示问题,让学生带着问题再读语段。
What can people see in Beijing? (People can see museums, palaces and parks in Beijing.)
What do a lot of tourists enjoy doing in Tokyo? (A lot of tourists enjoy shopping in Tokyo.)
What do people in London love eating? (People in London love eating fish and chips.)
4.出示北京、东京和伦敦的图片,让学生试着猜 tourist、building、palace 的意思,板书单词 tourist、building、palace,学生齐读。接着领读sushi,提示学生它与中文“寿司”的读音是否类似,引导学生猜出其义。然后借助数据让学生理解most的意思,最后根据三个城市的特色食物,借助sushi、dumpling、 fish and chips的图片,帮助学生理解单词。最后,播放Look and read的录音,学生跟读课文。
Post-task activities
1. 让学生完成Look and read的反馈练习,根据课本上的quiz card填写London的测试卡,然后四人一组做测试。
2. 出示主要句型结构:

There are__________________________
You can see/find____________________
让学生根据Look and read的语段,试着概括介绍亚洲主要的首都城市如北京、东京、曼谷的主要特点。可以拓展单词million,增加对城市人口的介绍,如There are 20 million people in Beijing.

通过Think and write的练习,学生根据提示填空完成简短的句子,培养学生写作能力。
通过模仿Think and write制作三个城市的“名片”并作介绍,培养学生运用语言的能力。
通过学习任务(Task),帮助学生巩固和综合运用本单元所学的知识和技能

S1: Tokyo is the capital of Japan. You can see a lot of tall buildings there. A lot of tourists enjoy shopping in Tokyo.
出示三段话,内容是关于北京、东京和曼谷三个城市的介绍。
Beijing is the capital of China.
You can find museums, palaces and parks here.
Tourists like visiting the Great Wall.
Tokyo is the capital of Japan.
You can eee a lot of tall building there.
Tourists like visiting the Tokyo Tower.
Bangkok is the capital of Thailand.
You can eee many temples there.
Tourists like visiting the Grand Palace.
接着让学生根据这三段内容,每人制作三个!城市的“名片”。例如:

1. 学生两人一组,互相介绍自己了解的其他一些著名城市,如巴黎、伦敦等,随后向全班作介绍。
S1: London is the capital of the UK. You can see Big Ben in London.
出示巴黎、伦敦、悉尼三个城市的图片,让学生说出这三个城市的名称和所在国家。
S1: This is Paris. It’s in France. Paris is the capital of France.
S2: This is Sydney. It’s a big city in Australia.
2. 让学生看Culture corner,简单介绍伦敦的标志建筑Big Ben,让学生说说他们知道的其他城市的标志性建筑。然后根据巴黎、伦敦、悉尼三个城市的图片,提供对应的“城市名片”,形式参照Think and write栏目,让学生根据“城市名片”提供的信息,先试着写一写。

接着让学生根据自己所写的内容,向全班作介绍。
3. 让学生根据自己了解的国家、首都以及标志性建筑,制作“城市名片”。如美国的首都是华盛顿,它的另一著名城市是纽约,自由女神像是纽约的标志性建筑;意大利的首都是罗马,威尼斯是著名的水城。然后学生对子活动,介绍自己制作的“城市名片”。
S1:New York is a big city in the US. You can see the Statue of Liberty there.
4. 播放Learn the sounds的录音,教师示范发音,学生模仿练习。

再次播放Learn the sounds的录音,学生跟读、抽读,练习发音。最后播放Listen and circle的录音,学生完成练习,核对答案。教师出示含有字母a及字母组合er、ir、ur、or 的单词,请学生根据读音规则尝试拼读。

Post-task activities
1. 小组自由活动。教师在教室的墙上张贴世界 地图,让学生将自己制作的“城市名片”和相应的图片按照地理位置如亚洲、欧洲、北美洲、大洋洲等不同板块贴在地图上,全班共享同伴带来的信息资源。学生还可以小组讨论,选择一个城市,设计一份旅游计划,然后作汇报。教师可以提供范例。
We are going to Tokyo tomorrow. Tokyo is the capital of Japan. It is far from Beijing. We are going to travel to Tokvo by plane. It takes about three and a half hours. There are many tall buildings in Tokyo. We will visit the Tokyo Tower. We will go shopping there. We will take a lot of photos.
2. 请学生看《练习册》Task的第一部分,回忆自己去过的城市,将城市的照片贴在方框内,并填空完成城市信息表格。然后把学生分成若干小组,让学生在组内交流,了解组员去过的城市。
S1: Which city did you visit?
S2: I visited Shanghai.
S3: Where is it?
S2: It’s in the east of China.
S1: When did you go?
S2: I went there in August.
最后,让学生根据小组交流的情况,选择其中一位同学,根据他/她去过的某个城市的情况,完成第三部分的短文。
