一、教学目标(Teaching aims)
通过Listen and say引人并教学Look and learn的生词,结合核心单词,帮助学生介绍地球概貌。
通过反馈练习,引导学生初步运用核心句型,针对保护地球的环保行动展开讨论。
二、教学重难点(Teaching points and difficulties)

Pre-task preparations
1.播放一段介绍地球地貌的短片,引出本节课的话题。
T: Look! What is it?
S1: It’s the Earth.
T: Yes. What do you see in the video? What’s on the Earth?
S2: I see forests.
S3: I see land.
S4: I see oceans.
T:Yes. Today we are going to learn more about the Earth.
出示课题The Earth,让学生跟教师朗读单词 Earth。
2. 引导学生发散思维,说说自己对地球的认识,可以先小组讨论,再全班汇总信息。
T: What do you know about the Earth?
S1: The Earth is round.
S2: There are animals, people and plants on the Earth.
S3: There is a lot of water on the Earth.
While-task procedures
1.播放课文Listen and say的多媒体动画或录音,在黑板上贴上地球的图片,并标出蓝色、绿色、褐色部分(模仿课本第81页上的图片)让学生找出对话中所提到的这些都是什么。
T: The children in Ms Guo’s class are talking about the Earth. There are many different parts on the Earth. Tell me what they are. (point to the picture on the blackboard) 学生观看结束后,尝试找出对应的图片。
T: What are the blue parts?
S1: They’re the oceans.
T: Yes.
教师可以让学生在地图上指出五大洋的位置,也可以根据学生学力,让学生说说五大洋的名称(详见“参考资料”)。
T: What are the green parts?
S2: They’re forests.
T: How about the brown parts?
S3: Land.
学生集体学习核心单词。
2. 提出问题,让学生朗读课文,找出答案。
T: What’s wrong with the Earth now? Read this dialogue again and try to find the answer.
S1: The Earth was clean and beautiful, but now some parts are dirty.
T: What should we do to help the Earth?
Ss: We should do something to keep the Earth clean.
学生以小组为单位,在课文中找出保护地球的措施,并划出来。
T: Now let’s find some solutions to keep the Earth clean in the dialogue.
Ss: (read the dialogue and find the answers, then discuss in groups)
然后播放课文中核心句子的录音,学生模仿朗读:
We should stop throwing rubbish into rivers.
We should stop cutting down so many trees.
We should stop using plastic bags.
4. 播放课文录音,学生模仿朗读。
Post-task activities
学生四人一组,表演Listen and say对话。
学生完成反馈练习,并看图介绍地球。
S1: This is our Earth. It’s round. The blue parts are the oceans. The green parts are the forests and the brown parts are land. The Earth was clean and beautiful in the past, but now some parts are dirty. We should stop throwing rubbish into rivers. We should stop cutting down so many trees. We should stop using plastic bags. We should protect our Earth. We should keep it clean and beautiful.

2. 通过对地球环保主题文章的反馈,引导学生对地球污染问题和解决方案展开深入讨论。
3.帮助学生复习本学期所学的语音。

Pre-task preparations
1. 出示课题The Earth,并将图片贴在黑板上,用设问的方式复习上一课时的核心内容。
T: Look, what’s this?
Ss: It’s the Earth.
T: What are the different parts on the Earth?
Ss: They’re forests, oceans and land.
根据问题引出核心词,可以让学生将单词拼写在图片旁边,并作介绍。
T:Here’s the Earth. Who can introduce it to us?
2. 让学生进一步复习上一课时关于保护地球的内容。
T: Yesterday, we talked about some problems on the Earth. What should we do to protect the Earth?
学生两人一组交流各自对地球、地球上的污染的认识,以及人类应采取什么行动来保护地球。
While-task procedures
1. Review the sounds是语音的总复习,可以让学生朗读单词,感受这些语音的区别,也可以播放录音,让学生进行语音辨别练习。可以设计一些语音练习帮助学生巩固发音。(练习题型参见“参考资料”)
2. 教师总结学生上一个练习中对地球的介绍,引入新课。
T: As you mentioned just now, the Earth was clean but now some parts are dirty. What makes the Earth dirty? Why does the Earth get sick? In today’s class, we are going to find out more. Before reading the passage, do you know why the Earth is getting sick?
在阅读课文之前,先让学生根据个人对本话题的认知谈一谈。
3. 引入Look and read的内容,将班级分成两大组,第一组看课文第一段,第二组看课文第二段,快速阅读后交流阅读感受。
T:Now Group 1,can you tell us what the first paragraph is about?
S1: It’s about what’s on the Earth.
T: (write down the key question on the blackboard) What’s on the Earth?
S2: There are oceans, forests, rivers and land on the Earth. There are people, animals and plants on it too.
T: Now Group 2, can you tell us what the second paragraph is about?
S3: It’s about why the Earth gets sick.
T: (write down the key question on the blackboard) Why does the Earth get sick? S4: People throw rubbish into rivers and oceans.
S5: People cut down too many trees.
S6: Smoke from cars and factories makes the air dirty.
教师可以根据学生的回答板书核心词,作为 学生概括课文大意的提示。

4. 播放课文第一、二段的多媒体动画,让学牛模仿录音朗读。然后学生按照板书尝试对文章的前两段进行归纳。
T:From these two paragraphs we know something about the Earth. Look at the blackboard. What’s the main idea of the first two paragraphs?
指导学生独立阅读第三段和第四段,并模仿板书自己设计核心问题和记录核心词。阅读结束后,两人一组相互问答,完成第三、四段的学习。
S1: What are the third and fourth paragraphs about?
S2: They’re about what people do to keep the Earth clean and healthy.
S1: What do people do?
S2: People pick up rubbish, plant trees every year, recycle glass and paper, bring their own shopping bags and stop using plastic bags.
讨论结束后,让学生模仿第三、四段的录音朗读课文,并根据板书概述第三、四段的内容。

学生通读课文,根据板书概括课文大意,作为本节课的总结。

1. 通过Ask and answer的问答活动,学生运用核心句型交流看法。
2. 通过Think and write的写作练习,学生综合本单元所学知识,运用核心句型提出环保行动建议。
3. 通过学习任务(Task),帮助学生巩固和综合运用本单元所学的知识和技能。

Pre-task preparations
1. 学生朗读Look and read的课文,引入本课时内容。学生用自己的话表述文章的核心内容,作为上一节课的复习。朗读可以采取集体形式,而复述课文则可以采取个人或小组交流的方式。
2. 教师设问,引入本节课的主题。
T: From the passage, we know that our Earth is getting sick. There are different kinds of pollution on the Earth. What are they?
S1: They’re air pollution and water pollution.
T: Yes, pollution makes the Earth dirty and sick. Let’s find more solutions to these environmental problems.
While-task procedures
1.出示人们破坏自然资源的图片,并让学生列举生活中的类似现象,如白色污染(white pollution)、砍伐树木等,让学生根据地球污染的原因深入讨论,找出解决方案。
T: What causes air pollution?
S1: Smoke from cars and factories makes the air dirty.
S2: Trees can keep the air clean and cool the air. But people cut down too many trees.
T: So what should we do to keep the air clean?
S1: We should stop polluting the air.
S2. We should drive our cars less often. We should ride a bike or walk more often.
S3: We should plant more trees.
S4: We should use both sides of paper.
T: What causes water pollution?
S1: People throw rubbish into rivers and oceans.
T: What should we do?
S3: We should put rubbish in a bin.
S4: We shouldn’t litter.
此练习可以根据学生的学力,如果学生有能力用英语表述,可以由教师设问学生回答。否则,教师可以提供语言信息,让学生连线,再说一说。
2. 学生独立完成Ask and answer的练习,然后模仿课本上的形式,在小组内讨论交流。
S1: What should we do to save the Earth?
S2: We should plant more trees.
S3: We should drive our cars less often.
S4: We should stop cutting down trees.
3. 学生以小组的形式,围绕地球、环境污染以及环境保护自编并表演对话,教师给出对话所需涉及的内容,学生在组内自行组织对话。
T: Now you are going to make a dialogue about the Earth. In the dialogue, you need to talk about the Earth, pollution and the solutions to pollution.
然后,请各组学生表演对话,通过不同的对话表演来进行信息互补和评价。
学生完成Think and write的短文,写完以后 可以在小组内交流,教师可以将学生写的小短文装订在一起,做成一本班级环保小册子。
Post-task activities
1. 学生四人一组制作海报。分发给每组学生一张海报纸,围绕主题Save the Earth或者半开放主题Save ...制作海报。邀请部分学生 在全班进行汇报交流,最后把学生制作的海报贴在教室墙上。
Save the Earth
We can save the earth in these ways:
1 Stop throwing rubbish into rivers.
2 Drive cars less often.
3 Stop cutting down so many trees.
2. 请学生看《练习册》Task的第一部分,在方框内画一画地球或者贴一张地球的图片,并标注地球表面各部分的名称。然后学生分成若干小组,在小组内问答交流,看看各自画的地球上有什么,讨论该如何保护环境。
S1: (show his/her picture of the Earth) What can you see on the Earth?
S2: I can see some land.

最后,让学生根据小组交流的信息完成第三部分的短文,以保护地球为主题写一写地球的现状,并给出保护环境的建议。
