一、教学目标(Teaching aims)
1. 通过歌曲等活动帮助学生复习Look and learn中所学的词汇。
2. 通过Listen and say学习本单元的核心句型。
3. 让学生通过Play a game的对子猜谜活动进一步熟悉本单元所学的小动物名称和核心句型。

Pre-task preparations
1. 播放歌曲如In the zoo (参见“参考资料’),让学生先听后跟唱,以作为课前热身。
2. 引导学生用Look and learn所学的小动物单词改编歌曲In the zoo并哼唱出来,以帮助学生复习课时一新授内容。教师可以先示范改编歌词,如:
There’s a mouse in the house.
There’s a mouse in the house.
There’s a mouse in the house. La la la la la la la. There’s a cat in the house.
There’s a cat in the house.
There’s a cat in the house. La la la la la la la. There’s a dog in the house.
There’s a dog in the house.

While-task procedures
1. 用多媒体播放Listen and say的动画,让学生逐句跟读,从而导入新句型What is it?告诉学生这个句子可以用来编谜语,回答应用句型It is…。指着Listen and say的图片,用自问自答的形式提问并回答,以帮助学生理解句型What is it? It’s…的含义。
T:(point to the book in the picture) What is it? It’s a book.
(point to the rabbit in the picture) What is it? It’s a rabbit.
2. 教师先示范改编Listen and say里的谜语,让学生猜小动物名称。然后让学生同桌之间互相改编谜语、猜谜语。
T: Its ears are short. Its tail is long. Its eyes are small. Guess. What is it?
S1: It is a cat.
T: No.
S2: It is a mouse.
T:You're right. It’s a mouse.

3. 让学生两人一组上台,模仿Play a game对话猜谜语。教师先给一个学生一张小动物图片,让他/她根据图片编谜语,让另一个学生来猜测。拿着图片的学生要等搭档猜对之后才亮出图片。
S1: (get a picture of a cat from the teacher) It's fat Its tail is long. Its eyes are big. What is it?
S2: It’s a rabbit.
S1: No. Try again.
S2: Oh, it’s a cat.
S1: Right, (show the picture of a cat to S2) It's a cat.
T: Good!
4. 让学生先读Read and trace栏目的文字内容, 然后描写四线三格中的句子。
Post-task activities
1. 学生两人一组做听写和猜谜练习,一个学生自编一个有关小动物的谜语,让另一个学生边听边画或写下来后猜出谜底。然后两人交换角色练习。可根据实际适当引导学生拓展描述小动物的身体部位。
2. 让学生三人一组制作有关小动物的海报。分工参考:学生A说说一种小动物,学生B负责画画和美工,学生C向全班介绍海报中的动物。
