一.Teaching aims
(一)Knowledge aims
1. Key words: newspaper;use,;soup; make soup,;wash
2. Key sentences:
--What are you doing?
--I’m watching TV.
(二)Ability aims
1.掌握语法:现在进行时态的用法
2.能运用所学的知识,描述人们正在做的事情。
(三)Emotion aim
通过对本单元的学习活动,能培养学生学习英语的强烈兴趣,善于发现生活中正在发生的事情,积极思考,乐于助人,乐于参加各种活动的积极情感,培养学生团结合作的精神。
二.Teaching key &difficult points
现在进行时中现在分词的结构及读音;
能在交际中准确的运用现在进行时来描述或表达正在进行的动作。
三.Teaching procedures
Step1. Lead in
Greet students.
2. Show a picture of Yang Yang。
T: Can he play basketball?
Ss: Yes, he can.
show another picture of Yang Yang.
T: What is he doing?
Ss: He is playing basketball.
Show the picture of TF boys,
T:Can they sing?
Ss: Yes, they can.
The teacher shows another picture of TF boys
T: What are they doing?
Ss: They are singing.
T: Are they the same as the sentences we learnt before?
Ss: No, they aren’t.
T: Today we are going to learn the Present Continuous Tense.
Step2 Presentation
New words
The teacher shows the pictures and pronunciations of the new words, ask students to follow teachers.
Review the activities we learnt before. Such as: walk, run, swim etc. Guide students to read them.
3. Show the pictures, let students make conversations according to the sentence structures:
-What… doing?
-…doing sth.
4. Activity 1a
⑴ Show the picture of 1a.
T: There are nine pictures from “a” to “i”, different people do different activities, on the left, there are nine activities, match the activities with the pictures.
(2) Check the answer.
5. Activity 1b
(1) Look at the picture, what are these people doing? Listen and finish the tasks in 1b.
(2) Check the answers.
(3) Students read the dialogue and then practice it with their partners.
Step3. Practice
Activity 1c
Guide students to practice the conversations in 1c. Then student practice by themselves. Ask several pairs to role play.
Show four pictures.
The first two pictures: I ask they answer;
the last two pictures: they ask I answer.
Step4. Consolidation
T: Now I need two students to come here. One does an action, the other asks: “What is she/he doing?”, the others guess.
Step5. Summary
T: What you have learnt from this class?
S1: Some new words and phrases.
S2: The present continuous tense.
New words and phrases: newspaper; read a newspaper; soup; make soup; wash; use.
Key structures:
-What +be(am/is/are)+主语+V-ing+其他?
-主语+be(am/is/are)+V-ing+其他.
Step6. Homework
Try to introduce three photos of your family or your friends using the present continuous tense.
Review the words and phrases.
