I. Analysis of Teaching Material:
During the last three periods, students have learned to use some adjectives to describe their friends’ looks and personalities. In this period, it aims to let the students talk about future plans and fully use the material to do some activities by listening, speaking, reading and writing. Before listening, the teacher should introduce some new knowledge points in the listening contents, and it makes the students understand easily.
II. Analysis of the Students:
Everyone has his friends, it is the same to our students. They have learned some words to describe their friends. When the teacher asks the students to talk about their friends, they can introduce their friends easily. At the same time, they can revise the sentence structures. By their conversation, the students can cooperate well, learn to care about other people and talk about their future plans.
III. Teaching aims:

1. To describe friends and other people.
2. Learn to get the information from listening materials.

(Enjoy a song “Happy sheep and Big big wolf” with students before class.)
Step 1 Warming up& Revision
1.Greet with the students as usual.
2.Let the students talk about the characters in the video.
(Lead the students to describe the looks and personalities.)
Step2 Speak up
1.Play the recording of the conversation between Helen and Sandy. The students listen to it and then answer the two questions.
Who is the boy on the left? What is he like?
Who is the girl on the right? What is she like?
2.Ask them to practice reading the dialogue in roles.
3.Get the students to work in pairs to make up new dialogues like this:
A:Who is your …? B: He/She is…
A: What’s he/she like? B: He/She is honest/kind...
4.Choose two pairs to act out their dialogues.
Step 3 Listening
Nora’s future plan
1.Pre-listening
1)Free talk. Talk with the students like this:
What do you often talk about with your friends?
What’s your future plans?
What would you like to be when you grow up?
2)The teacher present the words “plan” and “social worker”.
2.While-listening
1)Listen to the conversation between Nora and Amy, and put a tick in the correct boxes in the table.
2)Check the answers.
3.Post-listening
1)Ask them to complete Nora’s dairy entry.
2)Let a student check the answers by reading the passage.
3)All the students read the dairy together.
Sandy’s future plan
1.Listen and fill in the blanks on Sandy’s dairy.
2.The students read and check the answers together.
Step 4 Make a survey
1. Ask the students to work in groups of four. Make a survey about their friends and then finish the table.
2. Choose some groups to come to the front, and the group leaders introduce their group members to the students.
Step5 Summary
1. Get the students to summarize what they have learned in this class.
2. Tell them: No matter what future plans they have, work hard now!
Step6 Homework
1. Remember the new words and phrases.
