方式状语从句引导词的意义一 时间状语从句常用引导词：
when, while, as, as soon as, before, since, till / until, after, no sooner…..than等 1 when as while
1）as和when从句中既可用持续性动词也可用短暂性动词作谓语。
while从句中用持续性动词作谓语。当从句中的谓语动词为持续性动词时，这三者可以通用
Mother was worried because little Tom was ill, especially as / when / while father was away in France.
The telephone rang while I was taking a bath2) as可译为“一边......，一边......”或“随着”
He looked behind from time to time as he went.
As time goes by,……..
3) 当主从句之间表示转折或对比关系时，多用while。

=Hardly had he finished when someone rose to oppose his points. 时间短语引导的时间状语从句next time, by the time, every time, each time, the day etc.

1.by the time强调“一个动作在另一个动作之前完成”， 因此主句主要用完成时态。

注意此时从句的翻译
重点句型：

2) Before
a.重点句型：It will be / was + …..+ before+

b. 可译为“ 还没来得及，还没”

4. till / until四个重要句型：
肯定式：延续性动词 + till / until
否定式：非延续性动词+ till / until
强调句式：It is / was + not until +……+that+……
倒装句式：Not until + 从句 + 部分倒装
He waited for us till / until ten o’ clock.
I can’t go home until / till Saturday.
Until Saturday I can’t go home. ( till不放句首 )
It was not until he finished his work that he went to bed.
Not until he finished his work did he go to bed.
二 地点状语从句常用引导词：where, wherever, anywhere, nowhere, everywhere

五 结果状语从句引导词： so that, So…that… , such…that..

So…that…结构常见于：
1.so+形／副＋that

2.such＋形＋复数名词／不可数名词＋that
六 条件状语从句引导词：if /unless, suppose (that), supposing (that), providing/ provided (that), assume / assuming that , so / as long as, on condition that
