Unit 8 When is your birthday?
I.教学设计分析

1. T: When is my birthday? My birthday is on May 2nd. When is your birthday? This class, we'll learn how to express dates.
(Show the pictures of the twelve months on the screen, or show a big calendar to the Ss. Learn the names of the twelve months: January, February, March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October, November, December )
2. Work on 1a.
Play the recording for the Ss to listen and repeat the new words. Ss read the new words and try to remember them.
3. Explain the language points

Based on the words about months, ask Ss to talk about their birthday or their parents’ or friends’ birthday in groups, so as to review the words and sentences that have learnt in the last period.

Guide Ss to summarize the rules of the ordinal numbers and try to spell them.
2. Present 2a: Listen and repeat
1) Ask Ss to repeat the new words about ordinal numbers with the tape player.

【记忆口诀】
基变序,有规律,多数词尾加-th。
一、二、三特殊记,词尾字母t, d, d。
八去t, 九去e,字母f把ve替,然后再加
-th。
遇到几十几,只变个位就可以。
序数词表顺序,一般须加定冠词。
序数词的用法:
1) 序数词要加定冠词the。但当序数词前有物主代词(his, her…)、指示代词(this, that…)等修饰时,则不必再用the。如:
on the third floor 在三楼
on his twelfth birthday 在他十二岁生日这天
2) 序数词常用缩写形式,即“阿拉伯数字+个位序数词的后两个字母”。如:one → 1st; second→ 2nd; third → 3rd; twelfth → 12th; twenty-sixth → 26th
3) 序数词可表示日期“几月几日”中的“几日”。如:
August 17th 8月17日 October 1st 10月1日
4) 表示分数时,分子常用基数词,分母用序数词。分子大于一时,分母加s。 如:
a /one half 二分之一
three fourths /three quarters 3/4
5. 名词所有格
名词所有格表示所属关系,’s所有格是其中的一种,意为“……的”。看下面的例子并总结’s所有格的构成规律:
the boy’s mother 男孩的母亲
women’s clothes 女人的衣服
students’ schoolbags 学生的书包
Tom and Mike’s teacher 汤姆和迈克共同的老师
Tom’s and Mike’s teachers 汤姆和迈克各自的老师
1. 单数名词和不以-s结尾的复数名词在词尾加____。
2. 以-s或es结尾的复数名词只需在词尾加_____。
3. 表示两个人共同拥有某物时,只需_____________ 用’s所有格;表示两个人各自拥有某物时,则 __________都得用’s所有格。
双重所有格
“of+名词所有格”中的名词必须表示人,不能表事物。如:
a play of Shakespeare’s莎士比亚的一个戏剧
a friend of my wife’s我妻子的一个朋友
该名词必须是特指,不能泛指。如:
a friend of the doctor’s 这位医生的一个朋友

注意区别下列三种表达方式:

In this procedure, go over this lesson through the game.
Point to each person in the picture in order in 4 (from the boy on the left to the man on the right), and ask students to answer your questions.

T: The fourth is 40. They are lined up from the youngest to oldest.

Game Steps:
