或过去存在的状态，动词要用过去时态。本课要学
的是动词be的过去时态，它只有was和were两种形
式，was用在单数主语后，were用在复数主语后。
一般过去时常和表示过去的时间连用如：
yesterday(昨天) ,then(那时), last night(昨晚),
last week(上周) last yeat(去年)For example: He was at home yesterday.
He was not at home yesterday.
