本次授课的班级高一6班,学生英语语言基础较好,掌握的词汇量较大,阅读涉猎话题较为广泛,具有一定的语法基础。语言技能较好,已经基本具备在阅读中获取主旨与细节信息的能力,部分学生能较好地用英语自信地表达观点。但多数学生在整合概括知识、分析解决问题以及批判性评价等方面有待于提高。此外,虽然绝大部分同学对卓别林这个人物不够熟悉,有待于通过视频图片和教育教学给予他们科学的指导。
教学目标
基于对文本的分析与学情的分析,基于对学生文本知识的把握、语言技能的提升与情感态度的培养,确定了以下具体的教学目标。
在本节课学习结束时,学生能够达到以下目标:
1.能够获知传记的写作特点和框架结构。
2.能够准确获取信息,加工信息和概括总结信息。
3.能够用英语发表对文本的反思。
4.能够形成积极的人生观。

寻读
本节课的教学设计采用了读前、读中、读后(即PWP)的阅读教学模式。这三个阶段呈阶梯状逐渐向上拓展,层层递进。在读前阶段,激活学生相关背景知识;读中共分为四个环节,在略读和寻读环节,引导学生掌握文章的主旨大意,构建整体框架;细读阶段,培养学生获取特定信息和挖掘深层信息的能力;巩固阶段是积累和运用本课所学的知识。前几个阶段均是对学生进行语言输入的训练。在读后阶段,目的是使学生将所学知识加以灵活运用,实现知识的迁移,达到语言的输出。
本节课使用了任务型教学法,根据教学内容设计了由简到繁、由
易到难、层层深入的任务,目的是为学生提供更多的语言实践机会,让
学生真切体会到做中学、用中学的乐趣。

在了解淘金记中卓别林的表演时观看此片片段,引导学生体会动词对于无声电影的重要性。归纳出卓别林成功的第三因素,激发学生的成功欲望。先通过自我探究,然后是小组活动来帮助学生补充和完成答案。
