本次授课的班级高一6班，学生英语语言基础较好，掌握的词汇量较大，阅读涉猎话题较为广泛，具有一定的语法基础。语言技能较好，已经基本具备在阅读中获取主旨与细节信息的能力，部分学生能较好地用英语自信地表达观点。但多数学生在整合概括知识、分析解决问题以及批判性评价等方面有待于提高。此外，虽然绝大部分同学对卓别林这个人物不够熟悉，有待于通过视频图片和教育教学给予他们科学的指导。
教学目标
基于对文本的分析与学情的分析，基于对学生文本知识的把握、语言技能的提升与情感态度的培养，确定了以下具体的教学目标。
在本节课学习结束时，学生能够达到以下目标：
1.能够获知传记的写作特点和框架结构。
2.能够准确获取信息，加工信息和概括总结信息。
3.能够用英语发表对文本的反思。

本节课的教学设计采用了读前、读中、读后（即PWP）的阅读教学模式。这三个阶段呈阶梯状逐渐向上拓展，层层递进。在读前阶段，激活学生相关背景知识；读中共分为四个环节，在略读和寻读环节，引导学生掌握文章的主旨大意，构建整体框架；细读阶段，培养学生获取特定信息和挖掘深层信息的能力；巩固阶段是积累和运用本课所学的知识。前几个阶段均是对学生进行语言输入的训练。在读后阶段，目的是使学生将所学知识加以灵活运用，实现知识的迁移，达到语言的输出。
本节课使用了任务型教学法，根据教学内容设计了由简到繁、由
易到难、层层深入的任务，目的是为学生提供更多的语言实践机会，让
学生真切体会到做中学、用中学的乐趣。
