Good morning,dear judges. I’m NO 3. Today my topic is what are they doing? .(板书) Now I’ll divide my lesson into six parts: the teaching materials, the ss, the teaching aims, the teaching points, the teaching methods, and the teaching procedures.
First , I’ll talk about my teaching materials. This lesson is taken from New Standard English Book
Module 3 unit 1 . it’s a story about on the bus,Amy asks Daming what is happening she don’t understand. By learning this lesson, the ss can use what are they doing. They are doing...to describe the action that is happening.
As for this period ss, they are active, curious and interest in speaking English,but afraid to speak out. So i’ll design rich and coloful activity settings to make ss be willing to imitate,dare to express themselves.
Based on he above analysis, i’ll pursue the following teaching aims:
First, the knowledge aims:ss can remember and master the words kid,get on,row, dragon,between and sentences what are they doing? They are playing chess. They are drinking soya milk. .
Second, ability aims: use what are they doing. They are doing...to describe the action that is happening.
Third , moral aims:ss can learn to develop a good habit in daily life.
About the key points, ss can understand the story and master the new words and use the special uestion in present continuous tense (现在进行时的特殊疑问句) .
about the difficult pints, ss can understand the pesent participle现在分词形式 form and the phrases
In order to achieve my teaching aims,i’ll use the Communicative Teaching Method, TPR Teaching method, Situational teaching method and so on.
Now, let’s move to the most important part: the teaching procedures.
Step 1 warming-up and lead-in
At beginning of the class, i’ll greet with my ss and play a game together,just like this:”guess, guess, i can guess......” it aims to focus ss on my class.
then divide ss into four groups the 1,2,3,4 to have a competiton . if ss want more stars, they should work hard.(板书)
let ss sing the song of last module(give each group one star) and
then show the picture of activity 1 . and let ss guess what are they doing? Let’s have a look. Then listen to the tape. Then read after the tape to imitate the tape. Ss can learn the word” kid” .
The purpose is to stimulate ss interest in speaking English and lead in the topic of this lesson.
Step 2 presentation
1 watch the flash in activity 2 and guess where did amy and daming pass?
.and then listen to the tape to check the answer. Read after the tape, and master the words
2 students will open the book,turn to page 15 . then listen to the activity 2 again to circle the present participle phrases ‘. then ss will read the text with the question” 1.who are they? 2.what are they doing? ” Then with the answers, i’ll guide ss use some key words to outline the mind map of this story. It like this “ in the park, they are doing taijiquan; in the lake, they are rowing a dragon boat, under the trea, they are playing chess; and the girls, they are drinking soya milk.ss will say these new words and i write them down I will stick the photo of them on the blackboard, and then teach the new words . ss will understand the story more easily. .
3 Then guide ss to use the mind map to retell the story.
After that, ss will read the text together, read in groups.
It aims to help ss to understand the text and develop their habit f thinking in English.
Step 3 practice
Make a guessing game :i’ll take some things from the box and let ss guess, they will use “run, swim, rw a boat
Fiinsh the activity 4. Ss will do a role-play.four ss act it out in groups.student A and B choose a phrase from the blachboard and imitate, student C asks to D”what are they doing”,D wil guess”they are...”
It aims to consolidate and iternalize ss’ language and develop ss evaluation and creation.
step 4 summary
i ll guide ss to use the mind map to conclude the new words and sentences and the good habbit in this lesson. and praise the better group and encourage the whole class to work harder.
step 5 homework
read the text with their parents;
read the pictures and describe by using the present continuous tense after class.
