Step 1 Warming-up
Greeting.
Free talking:
May ask students the following question: What’s your favourite day/subject? Why?
Do you like English/math/?
When do you have math?
What lessons do you have today/on Monday?
Do you have lessons on Saturday?
Bb: We don’t have lessons on Saturday.
Show the Class Schedule and let Ss say the times to revise how to say the time with “past ,to” in English .Then ask: What time do we start work?
(Bb: We start work at.. .Lessons start 7:40)
When do we have math/Chinese?
Let S1-7 say : We have_____ at _____ on Monday.
Step 2 Presentation and Practice
T: We have seven lessons on weekday/school day. But what else do we usually?
Ppt: Let Ss try to say activities we do every day. And then show some pictures, ask the students to look at the pictures and learn the phrases:
in the morning :get up/have breakfast /go to school /start work/lessons start/have a break
in the afternoon :have lunch/go home
in the evening: have dinner/do homework/ watch TV/ go to bed
Teacher help ss to say: In the morning we get up and then have breakfast and then go to school.
3. Consolidate the new words and phrases by translating and reading.
Memory challenges: Ss look at the activity and the time ( ppt)and say sentences:
E.g. I get up at 5:30 in the morning.
I go to bed at 9:50.
Step 3.Reading and Consolidation
1. Show the pictures in Activity1 let Ss talk about the picture: what does he do?
2. Ss read through the passage and order the pictures individually. Two minutes later check the answers with“and then”
3. Ask Ss to read the passage carefully again and fill in the chart.(ppt)
After checking the answers from the whole class. Let Ss listen and repeat. Explain the difficult phrases and sentences.
If there is enough time let ss read and fill in the blanks about Alex Greenall’s day.
Step 4 Homework
Do activity 2&3.
Listen and imitate activity1 three times and read twice.
Copy new words three times and do Exercise Book 2.1
