Step 1. Pre-task preparation
Present some photos of the flower shop, let the students learn the new words of Look and learn.
T: Look at these photos. This is the flowers. It’s beautiful. It smells nice.
S1: We can buy some flower for mum. S2: We can buy some for teacher.
S3: I like rose. Can we buy some rose? S4: OK.
2. Show the song and pictures in Listen and enjoy. Get the students listen to the song and learn to sing the song. Then ask the students to finish the blanks according to the recording.
Step 2. While-task procedures
Ask the students to look at the pictures and listen to the text and answer the teacher’s questions. Lead in the characters and background of the text.
T: where is it? S1: The post office.
T: It’s far from our home. S2: Yes.
Let the students carry on the fast "Solitaire" game according to the tips of the teacher.
T: Where does the man want to go?
S:He wants to go to the hospital .
S1: (stand up and say as quickly as possible)hospital
T: Where is the hospital? It’s near our home .
S2: (stand up and say as quickly as possible).
Work in groups: each student in groups says one sentence according to the tips on the blackboard and tries to retell the passage.
S1: I want to buy some toys .Peter’s birthday is coming .I want to buy a toy monkey for him.
S2: Me ,too .
S3:I want to buy a toy rabbit ,
4. Get the students read the “toy shop “
Step 3. Post-task activities
Ask the students to create a new song with the characters in Listen and say.
Show the pictures of the characters quickly, let the students answer by their memory.
Step 4. Homework




Read the text for three times.
2. Copy the new words.

Step 1. Pre-task preparation
Let’s chant:
How do you go to the zoo?
By bus? No!
By car? No!
By underground? Yes!
I go to the zoo by underground.

Give pupils to read some sentences and guess where it is:
eg. “ It is a place. It is big. It is clean. We can see many doctors and nurses there. It’s ______”
Step 2. While-task procedures
Free talk: The teacher give pupils some questions about the post office:
T: Is there a post office near your home/school?
Is it near or far away?
Where is it?
How do you get there?
2.Look and guess: What does Kitty ask?
3.Ask pupils to listen to the tape and order the key sentences.
4. Show a map and ask pupils to retell how to get to the post office.
T: How do I get to the post office?
S: Walk along Winter Street.
Turn left at Spring Street.
Then walk straight.
5.Ask pupils to read the key sentences in pairs. Learn how to give a way to others.
A: Excuse me, how do I get to the post office?
B: Walk along Winter Street. Turn left at Spring Street. Walk straight and you can see the post office on your right.
A: Walk along Winter Street and turn left. Then walk along Spring Street. Thank you.
Step 3. Post-task activities
Ask the students to do the practice in “Ask and answer” of page 62.
Ask the students to consolidate the key sentences about giving the way.
S1: Excuse me. How do I get to …(school/ library/ restaurant)?
S2: …
Play the video of “Listen and say”. Ask pupils to read the text after the tape.
Ask pupils to draw a map around the school:
a. Discuss: What’s around our school?
b.Draw a map

Listen to the tape and read the text in “Listen and say”.

Step 1. Pre-task preparation
Sing the song in Learn the sounds. Ask the students to create a new song, then read together.
Ask the students to look at the map and then help Jill find her way to different places, and then make a dialogue with their partner.
Show the students the picture in Say and act, ask them to talk about the environment around their school.
T: I’m at the school gate. I want to go to the supermarket. How do I get there?
Ss: Turn left, walk along the street and then turn right. There’s a supermarket on…
T: I want to buy some toys. How do I get to the toy shop from our school ?

Quick reading and answer the question:

Pair work. Let the students choose a place on page 61 and talk with their partner how can they go there.

Ask the students to finish the task on the workbook.
Draw and say. Ask the students to draw a map and discuss in pairs.
Role-play: The students listen to the recording and look at the pictures. Make them act out the dialogues.
