Pre-task Preparation
1. Greet as usual
Sing a song ‘ This is the way’. When the students sing the song, teacher show some pictures for different ways. Such as on foot, by bike, by underground…
2. Let the students guess how do their teachers come to school. Then draw a mind-map to help them remember the new phrases.
3. Show some flash cards and do a quick response.
While task activities
1. Ask and answer:
e.g. Who’s your good friends? My good friend is…
2. Watch the flash and then answer some questions.
(1) Who’s Kitty’s good friends?
(2) Are they in the same class?
(3)Do they like the same sport?
(4) What do they usually do?
3. Read the text together.
4. Do a survey

一. Revision:
a. Revise the phrases.
b.Teach pupils the new words:
bored, answer, make some phone calls
1. T: This boy is Oliver. How does he feel?
S1: He’s sad/unhappy…
T: He has nothing interesting to do. He feels bored. What does he do then?
S: He reads picture books.
T:Does he like reading the picture books?
S: No
T:Why?
S: Because the books are not interesting.
2.(Show the Picture2 .)
T: Oliver doesn’t like reading picture books. What does he do next?
S: He plays word games.
T: Does he feel happy now?
S: No. He still feels bored.
T: Why?
S: Because the word games are too easy.
Show the picture 3 and 4
A: How does Oliver feel?
He feels bored.
B: What does he say?
Mum, I’m bored.
C: What does Mum say?
I have an idea.
D: What does Mum do ?
She makes some phone calls.
Ask students to put the pictures of the story in the right order.
Ask some of the students to the front to retell the story;
The teacher shows the route from his/her house to work;
Ask students to draw the map and talk about their route from home to school.

Some students will confuse with the word: “ same” and “ different”. They need more practice to know the differences. They like retelling the story although they couldn’t do it well.

1). Pass the sentence patterns one by one.
2). Ask some pupils to retell the story.
3. Presentation
1). Get pupils to listen to the tape of the sound and read after it.
2). Get pupils to read the sounds.
3). Get pupil to find out the other words that have the sounds we learnt before.
