【教材分析】
第一模块是要求认识并了解世界上闻名遐迩的自然和人文景观,继而亲身感受大自然的鬼斧神工和人类文明的成果是每个青少年的向往。本模块介绍了巨人之路、科罗拉多大峡谷、三峡大坝和兵马俑等举世闻名的世界景观,这些能够帮助学生扩大知识面,增强学生对自然和人文景观的热爱。
本模块没有新的语法项目,主要复现了一般现在时、一般过去时、一般将来时、现在进行时和过去进行时等时态内容,在九年级初始阶段起到了承上启下的作用,学生通过学习,能够提高对这几种基本时态的理解和综合运用能力。
Unit 1 It’s more than 2,000 years old.
一、教学目标:

掌握并能运用词汇natural, wonder, discussion, eastern, though, loud, more than, millions of, below, in one’s opinion。

能够听懂谈论景观的对话,理解其中的事实性描述及个人观点;能够用表述事实的形容词描述景观,并发表个人观点。

Warming-up
这是新学期的第一课,教师要进行必要的情感交流,一方面沟通师生情感,另一方面为语言学习营造轻松愉快的氛围。交流的话题如假期的见闻,游历等,比如Have you got a happy holiday? What impressed you a lot in the holiday? There’s also something nice in the school.
四、教学过程

看图片,认识并了解图中的自然/人造奇观:如科罗拉多大峡谷、三峡大坝等,如:

(一)1. Let’s call Wonder of the World and join in the discussion. 我们给《世界奇观》节目打电话,加入讨论吧。
join in的意思是“参加某种活动; 加入 到”。
如: We all joined in the game.
我们都参与了游戏。
discussion 作名词, 它是由动词discuss 加后缀-ion而构成的, 意为“讨论; 商讨”。如:

本句中natural ones与man-made wonders相对应, ones代替前面提到的wonders。
5. though
though 作连词, 意为“虽然; 尽管”, 常用来引导让步状语从句, 从句可放在主句前或主句后, 但不能与but 或however 出现在同一个句子中。如:
Though he was tired, he went on working.
Lucy often helps me with my English, though she is very busy.

Some adjectives tell you facts, such as wide, deep, high and tall; some adjectives tell you the opinion of the author, like wonderful, huge and great. Learn to use them to talk about facts and give your opinion.

时间状语:at this time yesterday, when/while引导的时间状语从句
6. 现在完成时
用法:表示过去发生或完成了的动作,对现在造成的影响和结果,强调的是影响和结果。
例句:They have lived here since 1996. 自从1996年他们住在这儿。
时间状语:already, just, yet, ever等, for接一段时间,since 和表示过去某一时刻的词或词组连用。
