1. present的用法
(1)作为及物动词用,意为“颁发,把…交给”。
(2)作为可数名词,意为“礼物”。同义词:gift。还有“现在,目前”的意思,我们学过的短语at present“在目前”。
(3)作为形容词,意为“目前的,出席的”。

2. interest的可数性
作为名词,意为“兴趣”时为不可数名词;意为“业余爱好”或“感兴趣的事”时常作可数名词。

【质疑拓展】
(1.理解because,since和as
①because引导原因状语从句语气最强,表示直接原因,常用来回答由why提出的问题,所引导从句可放在主句前,也可放在主句后。例如:
Why did you do it?" "Because Jim told me to".
Because he didn't catch the bus, he was late for school.
②since “因为,既然” 侧重主句,主句表示显然的或已知的理由。强调说话者和听者双方都知道的原因,常译为“既然”,一般用在这样的句子里。例如:
Since everybody is here, let’s begin our meeting.
We can’t buy iphone6 since we have no money.
③as和since的用法大体相同,往往可以互换。引导的原因状语从句一般表示双发已知的事实,不如since正式,语气也较弱一些。
注意以下几点:
1. since表“因为”时,不要有"自......以来"的含义。
2. as做“因为”解时多放于后句,用在句首也没大的关系,但千万不要误解为“就在这个时候”的含义。
3.Since可用于省略句,其他两者不行。例如:Since so, I have nothing to say.
4. 涉及这几个词的有关标点一般的用法
当 "because", "since",或 "as" 引导的从句用于句首时, 主句前要有逗号:
Because I eat too much, I'm fat.
Since I hate vegetables, I hate salad.
As I like to read, I like my class in English literature.
从句位于后半部分时,不需要逗号
I'm fat because I eat too much.
I hate salad since I hate vegetables.
I like my class in English literature as I like to read.

【质疑拓展】
(要快速猜测出陌生单词的大致意思有两种方法。
第一种方法:首先暂时忽略该词的存在,将有意义但因为缺少该词而导致逻辑关系不太清楚的片段反复推敲,推测出一种合理的完整的段落含义,然后回过头去给该词估摸出某种定义。
第二种方法:将这个不认识或者似曾相识的单词拆开来,拆成词根和词缀的形式,或者把词根进一步拆开成为辅音或者辅音组合,然后将这些散乱的被拆开的字母组合连同该句子一块来推敲该段落的含义,段落含义清楚后再来猜测该单词的意思。
