1.教材内容
本单元呈现了话题“讨论你的周围所有物” 和目标结构“现在完成时表示持续性动作或状态”用法。本单元的语法项目是初中阶段必须掌握的八种时态之一,既是重点之一,也是难点之一。
本单元Section A主要是围绕着“自己所有物”为话题,巧妙地练习了带有for和since的现在完成时态。使学生通过Section A学习,掌握表达日常生活用品,及对这些物品的感情。在Section A基础上,Section B 是进一步拓展到 “周围环境的变化”,使学生能够描述对周围事物的感情,准确表达恰当的感受,能掌握延续性动词的用法,并在具体情境中加以运用。能在写作中运用现在完成时合理地描述自己对身边事物的态度,培养学生关心周围事物与帮助他人的意识。两部分既有联系又有独立的话题,教材内容的合理安排有利于学生对知识的掌握和运用,也符合学生的认知规律,由浅入深,循序渐进。
2.教材处理
本单元通过一系列的练习(句型练习、听力练习、阅读练习)来达到学习的目的,完成学习任务共需要4个课时。本课所进行是最后课时的阅读训练,是整个单元的拓展和延伸。Hometown Feelings 谈论了家乡的变化和家乡的特点,内容包含了丰富的词汇,也在现了本单元的语法和功能,内容丰富。这节课将分成三环节进行,第一环节是有猜测引入本课学习。第二环节围绕Feelings展开,速度、细读、猜测等方面能力都得到了训练。第三环节是拓展也是输出部分-写作训练。通过三环节最终完成本课时的教学任务。
3.教学目标
知识与技能:
(1)能听,说,认读,并理解本课的新单词和词组:search for, among, crayon, shame, regard, according to, opposite, especially, consider.
(2)能掌握句型:He has lived in Wenzhou for the last 13 years. I haven’t been back for almost three years now.让学生在模仿、学习的基础上逐步达到自然交流与真实运用的目的。
(3)能灵活运用现在完成时态表达思想。
过程与方法:
(1)能继续巩固速读、概括、比较等阅读技能,获取有关“家乡情”的信息,培养其对所获取信息进行分析、处理和解决问题的能力。
(2)能根据家乡变化为话题有条理的做简短发言,培养学生用英语进行思维和表达的能力;为学生进一步学习和发展创造必要的条件
情感目标:
(1) 激发并提高学生学习英语的兴趣;体现课堂教学主体者的身份,使其积极主动参与教学各环节,成为学习的主人;培养学生的个性和创造能力。
(2) 通过小组合作学习,能与同伴用英语进行积极地交流,发展与人沟通和合作的能力;培养学生的合作意识。
(3) 通过短文阅读训练,培养学生热爱家乡之情。
4.教学重难点
重点:通过阅读有关离乡人对家乡的谈论,理解体会思乡的情感。
难点:学会利用已有的背景知识,预测文章内容。

Step 1 Pre-reading
1.Warm-up:
play a video----a public service ad (公益广告)----many people who leaving their hometown for work are returning home together on the Chinese New Year and their relatives are doing different things to welcome their back home.
2.Lead in:
T: Where did he go before Chinese New Year? Why did he go there?
T: It’s his hometown,He missed his hometown very much.
T: These days millions of Chinese leave their hometowns to search for work in the cities. Can you tell me why they leave their hometowns and how you feel if you can’t go home?
T: We are all happy that we live in our hometown. But not everyone is lucky like me, they miss their hometown very much, but they don’t have money or time to return. Now, there is a man, Zhong Wei. He has great feelings to his hometown. Do you want to know more about it ?
Purpose: the main purpose is to stimulate the students’ learning interest and lead in the topic: changes, hometown feelings.

TASK1 Fast reading
1. Prediction (strategies: according to the title and pictures))
Q: What does the passage mainly talk about?
A. The changes of hometown.

2. Read and check
Purpose: In this part, I’ll let the students skim the passage to grasp the main idea of this passage and learn to use the reading strategy---prediction.

2. Read Para 1 and finish the chart

Purpose: To read some facts about Zhong Wei and then find Zhong Wei’s feelings for not returning home.

3. Enjoy a video (interview) about the changes of different people’s hometowns, their opinions to the changes and their love to their hometowns.
Purpose: To let the students read the passage carefully with the help of the chart and questions. The comprehension of the details of the passage is to make a foundation for the next step .

T: Now, Do you love your hometown? Discuss with your friends with the following questions.

Purpose: to let students discuss their hometown feelings using what we have learned today to master the usage of the words and grammar structure, and arouse the students’ love to their hometowns.
