Step1 Lead in the title of the class and revise the target languages.
T:This class we will study Unit 9 Section B(2a-3a):Singapore-A place you will never forget. Do you remember a place that you will never forget? Why?
Show them some famous places of interest and ask them to talk about using the target languages.

设计意图：直接引出本课课题，借助课题引出交流话题，旨在复习上节课所学的目标语言，同时激活学习的英语学习动机，为本课的学习做好心理与知识方面的准备。
Step 2 Warming-up
Watch a video about Singapore. Show them some pictures about the famous places of interest, food, and animals at night. Then ask the student what they have seen in the pictures.
设计意图：通过视频播放关于新加坡的著名景点、食物、夜间野生动物园，让学生直观了解新加坡，并引起阅读本文的好奇心。
Step3 Pre-reading
Show them two questions about Singapore and let them know about the position and the temperature.
1.Where is Singapore? A.in Northeast Asia B.in Southeast Asia
2.The temperature in Singapore is______________. A.the same B.different
设计意图：在阅读前通过猜测问题的形式，激活学生已有的知识，为深入阅读活动的开展做好铺垫。
Step4 Skimming
Look through the whole article and try to match each paragraph with the main idea. Then show them a reading tip: Find the topic sentence and the key words in order to read quickly.
设计意图：引导学生浏览全文，找出每段的段落大意。让学生总结阅读技巧：为了提高阅读速度，要善于把握每段的中心句及关键词。
Step5 Careful-reading
Read Para.1 and Para.4 and try to answer the questions.
1.Are most of people in Singapore Chinese?
2.What do people speak in Singapore?
3.Why is the temperature the same all year round?
设计意图：认真阅读第一段、第四段并回答相应的问题，了解新加坡的语言、地理位置、气温等特点。
Step6 Read Para.2 carefully and try to choose T or F.
1.You will have problems getting rice , noodles and dumplings.
2. If you like Indian food, you won’t find it in Singapore.
3.Singapore is not an excellent place to try new food.
Then show them another reading tip:Read carefully and find out the details.
设计意图：细读第二段判断正误，通过完成阅读任务了解新加坡的食物特点。掌握阅读技巧：认真阅读并努力找出对应的细节。
Step7.Watch a video
Watch a video about the Night Safari in Singapore. After watching, ask them to answer two questions:
1.What animals can you see?
2.What are they doing?
设计意图：为了缓解学生的阅读疲劳，同时直观了解一下夜间野生动物园的情况，让学生观看了一段视频资料。为了让学生认真观看，首先提出与视频及阅读相关的两个问题，引起进一步阅读的兴趣。
Step8 Read para.3 and finish off the chart.
Read Para.3 carefully and try to fill in the blanks to finish off the chart.
设计意图：细读段落并找出相应的词汇，在语境中体会它们的用法。
Step9 Sum up ,read aloud and retell
在学生通篇阅读完文本之后，通过图示形式概括文本的内容。接着给学生朗读课本、熟悉文本的机会，最后让学生通过填空的形式复述全文。
设计意图：在学生完成以上总、分阅读之后，通过图示形式对文本结构进行总结。接着让学生大声朗读文本，体会英语语言的美丽，熟悉相关的语言知识，同时为复述课文做好准备。同时对过读后填空的形式，对学生进行学习策略的指导，即养成读后做笔记的习惯，这有助于学生更好的记忆阅读内容。
Step10 Watch a video about Zouping, talk and write
T: After reading ,we have known a lot about Singapore.But how much do you know about our hometown.Watch a video about it.
Our hometown a very good place to visit.Let’s write an article to introduce it.We can try it from these aspects.Show them a map of writing and discuss them together.
Write the article by themselves , then discuss in groups.
At last, ask several students to read it and put it on the blackboard.
设计意图：通过观看关于家长邹平的图片，了解邹平的风土人情，地域特征。通过图表形式让学生知道如何学会写作。学生在写作完成之后，让学生就所写内容在小组内进行交流，互相学习并共同进步。
Step11 Emotional sublimation
Our hometown is beautiful.We should study hard ,them when we grow up ,we can make contributions to our hometown.
设计意图：通过文本的学习，了解新加坡的特点，对比自己的家乡的风土人情、地域特征，激发对自己家乡热爱之情，达成为了建设美丽的家乡而努力学习的共识。
