Earthquakes are hard to predict(预测), but do you know what to do before, during and after an earthquake? Here’s some advice:
Before an earthquake
It’s necessary(必要的) to prepare yourself and your family. All family members should know how to turn off gas, water and electricity and know useful telephone numbers (doctor, hospital, police, 119, etc.). Never put heavy things over beds.
During an earthquake
It’s important for each of you to stay calm. If you are indoors, quickly move to a safe place in the room such as under a strong table. The purpose (目的) is to protect yourself from objects, stay away from windows, large mirrors, heavy furniture and so on. If you’re cooking, turn off the gas. If you’re outdoors, move to an open area like a playground. Move away from buildings, bridges and trees. If you are driving, stop the car as soon as possible, staying away from bridges and tall buildings. Stay in your car.
After an earthquake
Once the shaking has stopped, DO NOT run out of the building at once. It’s better to wait and leave when it’s safe. Check around you and help the people who are in trouble.

祈使句(P135)
祈使句表达说话人对对方的_______,________,________,________,________,________,________等。祈使句一般以动词原形开头,无时态和数的变化。
1. 动词原形构成的祈使句
此类祈使句暗含的主语是you,但通常省略。否定句往往由do not(don’t)或never开头。祈使句的句首或句末有时加please,还可以加上称呼语,用逗号与句子主题隔开。例如:

2. let’s 构成祈使句

3. 无动词祈使句
在请求、命令和口号中,常用无动词祈使句,它实际上是省略了动词,从而使语句更简洁有力。例如:

情态动词 can/could/ must/need 表示推测的用法
1. can 可以表示对现在或将来的推测,意为“会,可能”。通常用于肯定句和疑问句。用于否定句时,can’t 表示“不可能”;用于否定句时,can 比could 表示的“可能性”更大。
例如: Who sent the present? ______ it be your brother?

2. could 也表示对现在或将来的推测,意为“会,可能”。
could 可以用于肯定句、否定句和疑问句,表示某事有可能发生或可能是事实。
