Focuses: Lead students to design a poster for an educational exchange step by step.
Difficulties: Help students brainstorm the elements included in an educational exchange and use different expressions to demonstrate their ideas.

Step 1 Before-reading (5 mins)
? Guide Ss to brainstorm what they can do on an educational exchange in groups.
? Ask Ss to organize their ideas into a mind-map and write them down.
? Invite one student to share his/ her ideas on stage.
? Guide Ss to review the relevant expressions.
? Develop Ss’ visible thinking and teamwork spirit.
Step 2 Fast-reading (10 mins)
? Invite Ss to help my cousin read a poster of an educational exchange
? Guide Ss to scan the article quickly and figure out the main idea as well as the structure of each paragraph in groups.
? Ask Ss to discuss and find out the writing skills of the poster’s beginning and ending.
? Set up a situation and arouse Ss’ interest in finishing the tasks.
? Encourage Ss to quickly understand each paragraph in different ways.
? Guide Ss to notice the practical writing skills.
Step 3 Detailed-reading (15 mins)
? Ask Ss to finish three reading tasks about each paragraph in groups and share the answers in class.
? Ask Ss to think about the meaning and usage of those activities in the poster and come up with other ones in groups. ? Guide Ss to explore the meaning of ‘adventure’ and its connection to the educational exchange in groups.
? Further Ss’ understanding of this poster by looking for the details.
? Encourage Ss to consider the educational exchange critically and creatively.
? Further Ss’ understanding of ‘adventure’ and enable them to use the expressions newly learnt.
Step 4 Post-reading (10 mins)
Poster-making: (Group work)
? Guide Ss to observe and tell the necessary elements in the spectacular posters.
? Ask Ss to design a poster to introduce the Global Citizen Course of TFLS in groups by using those elements and different expressions. ? Invite Ss to share their works in class and give comments to each other.
? Develop Ss’ critical thinking and creativity.
? Enable them to use the expressions newly learnt in the practical task.
? Inspire them to work harder and try to join the educational exchange.
Step 5 Homework
? Polish the poster.
? Help Jackson fill in an application form after studying the examples on P78-79.
? Reinforce the knowledge and skills newly learnt.
? Lead in the next topic.
