I. Leading in (3minutes)
Ask students to watch a short video and lead in the topic.
Watch the video and say something about it .

Pre-reading (3 minutes)
1. Guide students to understand some new words.
2. Ask students to Look at the picture and choose the words to fill in the correct boxes.

While-reading (21 minutes)
First-reading
Ask students to read each part of the story and find out basic information about the story.

Second-reading
Ask students to read the story again and and then find out the elements and the plot of the story . (5 minutes)
Third-reading
Ask students to read the story in details and complete the form, and then check the answers. (8 minutes)
1. First-reading
(1) Read Lines1-7 and Lines 8-14, underline the facts to support the answers according to the questions while reading.
(2) Read Lines 15-24 and decide whether the statements are T or F. (3) Read Lines 25-44 and infer the answers .
(4) Read Lines 45-51,and complete the table. (8 minutes)
2.Second-reading
(1) Skim the story and then find out the elements of the story and the structure of the plot of the story.
