1)Present: The model Golden Gate Bridge looked as great as the one back home.(P32)
as… as
Mr. Wu is as happy as the two girls.
We use as…as to say that people or things are the same in some ways.
as+ adjective +as 和……一样
Nick is as tall as Simon.
2) Present two pencils to practice the pattern: as… as
①This pencil is as long as that one.
②His bag is as heavy as hers.
③Jim looks as strong as Mike.
3)present: two apples(with different weight)
The green apple is not as weight as the red apple.
We use not as… as to say that people or things are not the same in some ways.
The two girls are not as tall as Mr. Wu.
not as…as=not so…as 不如…一样
The green apple is not as weight as the red apple. =
The green apple is not so weight as the red apple.
Rewrite ①②③
This pencil is not so/as long as that one.
His bag is not so/as heavy as hers.
Jim looks not so/as strong as Mike.
4)not so/as+ adjective +as = comparative degree +than…
The two girls are not as tall as Mr. Wu. =The two girls are shorter than Mr. Wu.
The green apple is not as weight as the red apple. = The green apple is lighter than the red apple.

Finish the exercise on page 35.
Pair work: make sentences with as…as or not as…as.

B. reflexive pronouns
1) Present reflexive pronouns and explain their differences.
记忆口诀:一二形代第三宾,加上-self便反身;复数形式怎么办,相应复数-selves 跟;句中宾表与同位,不做主定要记清。
We use reflexive pronouns when the subject and the objective are the same person or thing.
