First Aid for Burns
The content of the lesson is New Senior English for China Student's Book 5 Unit 5 First Aid. This is a lesson focusing on reading and understanding, mainly dealing with the topic of first aid for burns.
It includes four parts: causes of burns, types of burns, characteristics of burns and first aid treatment. Through reading the text, we enable students to get some reading skills and learn how to deal with burns in an accident.Teaching material

The students are in Grade two. They show greater interest in learning English after getting used to the daily English learning. They spend at least 1.5 hour learning English every day at school.
In this lesson, they will practise their reading skills and the ability to catch some critical information. Besides that, they also learn to put those theories they have learned into practice. Academic situation analysis
1.Knowledge objectives
1). Students will know some ways to deal with the situation where first aid is needed.
2). Students will learn some ways to deal with burns.
3). Students will get the hang of some useful expressions about first aid.
Teaching Aims2. Ability objectives
1) Students will improve their reading skills, especially their skimming, scanning and careful reading ability.
2) Students will be guided to set up effective studying strategies.
3. Emotion objectives
By learning the knowledge of first aid, students can make a judgement on when and how to save people's life actively and correctly.
The important points are how to get the effective reading skills like predicting the main idea, skimming and scanning and learn to analyze some long sentences.
The difficult points is how to put the knowledge of first aid for burns into practice in students’daily life.
