T: Play music for the students to listen. And ask: Do you like this piece of music?
Ss: Yes./ No.
T: Why do you like it?
S1: Because it is light and beautiful.
T: OK.I see. You can say “I like music that is light.”
And ask another student: Why don’t you like it?
S2: Because it is not loud.
T: You can say “I like music that is loud.”
And ask another student: What kind of music do you like?
S3: …
T:Different people like different kinds of music.
创造真实的语言交际情景,师生互动交流,围绕“音乐”这一话题进行谈论,为接下来的听力训练做准备。
二、讲授新课(22分钟)
1.Presentation (1a)
T: What kind of music do you like?
Get the students to look at the picture in 1a and circle the sentences they agree with. Then write their own sentences. Have them pay attention to the structure of “I like music that…”.And check with several students.
通过对不同音乐的喜好,学习定语从句的基本结构,进行语言学习与知识积累,为接下来的听说训练做准备。
2.Listening activities (1b)
(1)Listen and find the general idea.

(2)Listen to the conversation more carefully and find the specific ideas.
Get the students to listen and check (√)the kinds of music Tony and Betty like.Check their work with several students.
(3)Have the students listen to the tape again and fill in the following chart.

(1)Get the students to listen to the tape of 1b and repeat.
(2)Have the students make conversations about the music that they like.

(3)Get some pairs to present their conversations to the whole class.
本部分的口语训练是所获取的听力信息的语言输出,在情境中操练定语从句,锻炼学生的口头表达能力。
4. Listening activities (2a-2b)
(1)T: Look at the picture in 2a,do you know who they are?
S1:Sorry,I don’t know.
T: One of them is Carmen, and another is Xu Fei. Can you guess the relations between them?

Have the students listen and circle T for true or F for false in 2a.And then check their work with some students.
(2)Ask the students to listen to the tape again and complete the sentences in 2b individually. And then check their work with several students.
