⑴ ought to 是情态动词,表示“应该;应当”,语气比 should 强,指道义上应该做的事,有时含有责备或督促的语气。should 指主观上感到有责任或义务去做。

①shut off意为“切断,中断(供水、供气、供电)”。
②shut down意为“停产,停工,关闭(公司、 工厂) ”。
③turn off/on —般指关闭/打开电器(自来水、电灯、收音机)、仪器等。
④turn up,turn down一般把音量调高,调低。
⑤open ,close意为打开,关闭(门、窗、盒子等)。

并列句是由并列连词把两个或两个以上的简单句连在一起构成的句子,
连词前可用逗号,也可不用逗号。
1. 表示并列关系,常用and。
e.g. His father is a teacher and his mother is a nurse.
他的父亲是一位老师,母亲是一位护士。│ 基础过关V. 语法梳理2. 表示转折关系,为了更强调前后两句的对比关系,常用but, while,意为“而”, 用or表示“否则”。
e.g. I bought my sister a present, but she didn’t like it.

汤姆每天做家务,而他妹妹却什么也不做。
Hurry up, or you’ll be late. 快点,否则你会迟到。
3. 表示因果关系,常用so。
e.g. Her mother is ill, so she has to stay at home and look after her.
