Lesson 2 Turn off the Computer!
This is the second lesson in this unit. The main topic is turning off the computer, so improving the students’ abilities of listening and talking about the topic of compute is very important.

Step 1. Greetings and warm-up activities
Ask the students to practice the conversation about the benefits and harm of the computer in groups by using these sentences: I think computers are good. We can …
I think computers are bad. It’s bad for …
Step 2. Watch the cartoon and answer the questions
T: Time to go to bed. Danny likes to listen to music on Saturdays. (课文导入）2
Questions: What does Danny like to do on Saturdays?
What is Danny doing at 9:00?
What will Danny send to Li Ming and Jenny?
Step 3. Listening and vocabulary
Play the recording in part 1.
Play it again and ask the students to check the words they hear.
Check the answers with the whole students.
Step 4. Listen, read and retell
1. Play the recording in part 2.
2. Play it again and check the answers. Ask some students to correct the wrong ones.
Put the students into groups to practice the dialogue. The students repeat it several times, changing roles each time.
Talk about the pictures in the PPT.
Step 5. Speaking
Work in pairs. Ask and answer the questions in the pictures.
A: What do you think of computers?
B: I think computers are good.
A: Do you like play computers?
B: Yes, I do.
A: What do you do with computers?
B: I use them to play video games.
Step 6. Homework
Copy the words and text of Lesson 2.
Recite the text well and practice the words.
