Lesson 3 At the Cinema
This is the third lesson in this unit. The main topic is the film, so improving the students’ abilities of listening and talking about the topic of film is very important.

It doesn’t sound interesting.

To understand conversations involving the film.
To practice the conversation about the film with partners.

Learn to answer your partners’ questions in the right way.

Talk about the films you have seen.

Learn to use the structures: What film do you want to see?

Tape recorder, Multimedia
Step 1. Greetings and warm-up activities
Ask the students to practice the conversation about the film you have seen in groups by using these sentences: What film do you want to see?
Step 2. Watch the cartoon and answer the questions
T: It’s Sunday afternoon, Li Ming、Danny and Jenny are going to the cinema to see a film. (课文导入）
Questions: Where are they？
What film did they see？
What did Danny like best？
Step 3. Listening and vocabulary
Play the recording in part 1.
Play it again and ask the students to check the words they hear.
Check the answers with the whole students.
Step 4. Listen, read and retell
1. Play the recording in part 2.
2. Play it again and check the answers. Ask some students to correct the wrong ones.
Put the students into groups to practice the dialogue. The students repeat it several times, changing roles each time.
Talk about the pictures in the PPT.
Step 5. Speaking
Work in pairs. Ask and answer the questions in the pictures.
A: What film did you see last week？
B: I saw Harry Potter last week.
A: Who did you go to the cinema with？
B: I went to the cinema with my friends.
A: Did you like the film？Why？
B: Yes, I did. Because it was funny.
Step 6. Homework
Copy the words and text of Lesson 3.
Recite the text well and practice the words.
