Mrs. Brown had a garden in which she planted vegetables in the spring. She looked after them so carefully that they looked very nice when the summer came. When Mrs. Brown decided to pick and eat the vegetables, she found that the neighbor’s ducks ate them up. Mrs. Brown was sad and her neighbor was very sorry. Then the neighbor gave Mrs. Brown a parcel with a beautiful, fat duck in it as compensation.
