B
Some
time
ago,
I
discovered
a
whole
lot
of
antique(古董)
shops
near
my
home.
So
I
left
home
one
morning
carrying
the
chair
that
had
a
broken
leg.
I
didn’t
think
there
would
be
any
difficulty
in
getting
it
mended.
I
went
into
the
first
shop
expecting
a
friendly
reception.
I
was
quite
wrong.
The
man
wouldn’t
even
look
at
my
chair.
The
second
shop,
although
slightly
more
polite,
was
just
the
same,
and
the
third
and
the
fourth

so
I
thought
that
my
approach
must
be
wrong.
I
went
into
the
fifth
shop
with
a
plan
in
my
mind.
I
placed
the
chair
on
the
floor
and
said
to
the
shopkeeper,
“Would
you
like
to
buy
a
chair ”
He
looked
it
over
carefully
and
said,
“Yes.
How
much
do
you
want
do
it,
sir ”
“Twenty
pounds,”
I
said.
“OK”
he
said,
“I’ll
give
you
twenty
pounds.”
“It
has
a
slightly
broken
leg,”
I
said.
“Yes,
I
saw
that;
it’s
nothing.”
Everything
was
going
according
to
the
plan
and
I
was
getting
excited.
“What
will
you
do
with
it ”
I
asked.
“Oh,
it
will
be
easy
to
sell
once
the
repair
is
done.”
“I’ll
buy
it,”
I
said.
“What
do
you
mean
You’ve
just
sold
it
to
me.”
he
said.
“Yes,
I
know
but
I’ve
changed
my
mind.
I’m
sorry.
I’ll
give
you
twenty-seven
pounds
for
it.”
“You
must
be
crazy,”
he
said.
Then,
suddenly
the
penny
dropped.
“I
know
what
you
want.
You
want
me
to
repair
your
chair.”
“You’re
right.”
I
said.
“And
what
would
you
have
done
if
I
had
walked
in
and
said,
‘Would
you
mend
this
chair
for
me ’”
“I
wouldn’t
have
agreed
to
do
it,”
he
said.
“We
don’t
do
repairs,
not
enough
in
it
and
too
much
trouble.
But
I’ll
mend
this
for
you,
shall
we
say
for
five
pounds ”
He
was
a
very
nice
man
and
was
greatly
amused
by
the
whole
thing.

The
quality
of
our
seafood
has
been
in
the
news
a
lot
lately.
A
new
study
has
found
that
people
who
eat
seafood
are
also
eating
plastic

11,000
pieces
of
microplastic(微塑料)
per
year
to
be
exact.
Researchers
at
the
University
of
Ghent
in
Belgium
found
that
seafood
eaters
are
consuming
plastic
at
a
concerning
rate.
“Per
serving
of
mussels
(贻贝),
which
contains
about
300
grams
of
mussel
meat,
you
get
300
pieces
of
plastic
inside
your
body,”
researchers
wrote.
Researchers
don’t
yet
know
the
implications
of
eating
microplastic,
but
they
worry
that
it
could
have
negative
consequences
on
our
health.
While
we
don’t
know
what
microplastic
does
yet
to
humans,
we
do
know
what
it
does
to
sea
animals.
In
earlier
studies,
scientists
have
found
that
when
fish
eat
microplastics,
it
prevents
their
growth
and
changes
their
feeding
patterns.
In
fact,
fish
will
stop
eating
natural
sources
of
nutrients,
and
only
go
for
plastic.
When
you’re
done
using
plastic,
a
small
portion
(部分)
may
be
recycled.
However,
more
than
likely
it’s
in
a
landfill
or
making
its
way
towards
the
ocean.
Once
rubbish
hits
the
water,
sea
creatures
may
mistake
it
for
food.
This
often
leads
to
poisoning
or
death.
If
they
get
caught
for
human’s
food,
the
plastic
may
very
well
make
its
way
back
to
you

on
your
dinner
plate.
According
to
a
study
published
in
Science
magazine,
eight
million
tons
of
plastic
go
into
our
waterways
every
year.
The
problem
is
so
serious
that
scientists
say
that
by
2050
the
weight
of
plastic
in
our
oceans
will
outweigh
fish.
And
just
because
it’s
out
of
sight,
it
doesn’t
mean
it
should
be
out
of
mind.
There’s
no
immediate
way
to
prevent
microplastic
from
ending
up
in
your
body.
However,
you
can
help
reduce
the
amount
of
plastic
reaching
rivers,
lakes
and
oceans
in
the
first
place.
You
can
make
a
difference
with
your
choices
every
day.
Even
small
changes
will
add
up.
While
your
dinner
may
contain
microplastic,
you
can
help
prevent
the
future
generations
from
having
that
same
problem.

about
microplastics
in
the
oceans

Fish
are
sick
and
tired
of
them.
C.

grow
quickly.

A
Chinese
man
who
was
separated
from
his
parents
as
a
child
has
found
his
family
thanks
to
an
online
facial
recognition
system.
Fu
Gui,
33,
was
connected
with
his
birthparents
again
after
using
“Baby
Come
Home”,
a
Chinese
website
that
helps
people
find
their
missing
children.
The
website
employs
a
facial
recognition
system
which
matches
the
portraits
offered
by
parents
who
are
looking
for
their
missing
children
and
people
who
are
trying
to
find
their
parents.
The
advanced
artificial
intelligence
(AI)
(人工智能)
technology
was
developed
by
Baidu.
As
his
father
recalled,
Fu
Gui
was
born
in
Chongqing
in
1984
and
went
missing
in
1990.
To
find
his
son,
the
man
uploaded
(上传)
Fu
Gui’s
information
to
Baby
Come
Home
and
put
a
picture
of
Fu
Gui
when
he
was
little
on
the
website.
In
2009,Fu
Gui,
who
was
also
looking
for
his
family,
put
his
information
on
the
same
website
and
uploaded
a
childhood
picture
of
himself.
On
his
profile
(简况),
Fu
Gui
stated
that
he
was
born
in
1986
and
he
was
separated
from
his
parents
in
1991.
The
man
had
been
renamed
Hu
Kui
by
his
parents
now.
Baby
Come
Home
failed
to
match
the
two
parties
due
to
the
different
information
that
had
been
put
in
at
first.
With
the
help
of
Baidu’s
AI
technology,
Baby
Come
Home
was
able
to
quickly
analyse
the
60,000
pictures
in
its
database
(数据库).
The
system
first
compared
the
faces
in
the
target

source
images,
then
chose
30
profiles
that
best
fitted
the
descriptions.
In
Fu
Gui’s
case,
his
childhood
picture
was
chosen
by
the
system
to
be
one
of
the
30
that
looked
most
like
Hu
Kui.
ADNA
test
was
carried
out
to
compare
Fu
Gui’s
biological
information
with
that
of
his
real
parents.
The
test
confirmed
that
the
two
parties
were
a
match.
The
reconnection
of
Fu
Gui
and
his
real
parents
marked
the
first
case
in
China
for
a
missing
child
and
his
family

be
matched
with
the
help
of
facial
recognition
technology.

A.a
young
Chinese
man
B.
the

33.
Why
did
the
website
fail
to
match
the
two
parties
at
first
A.
Because
the
young
man
did
not
upload
his

make

make
sure
you
have
the
plans

with
all
the
key
elements
concerned,
including
details.

the
plans

your
written
plans
and
actual
situation,
you
should
check
out
the
plans
you
have
completed
and
haven't
completed.

sure
all
the
assumptions
