Lesson one
Ⅰ. The analysis of the teaching material:
The material is based on A. Let’s talk, Let’s play, B. Let’s sing in p Unit 4, of book 1, Grade 3. This unit is mainly about animals, it is close to students’ daily lives. Students are interested in it, so it can arouse students’ interest in it. This lesson is the first period of this unit, so this lesson is a new lesson.
Ⅱ. The analysis of the students:
Our students are in Grade 3. They are about nine years old. Regarding to their psychological characteristic, they are active, full of curiosity and interested in new things. They are also eager to show themselves. As for students of Grade 3, they are in the stage of imagery thinking, so it is important for the teacher to create a related situation to provide direct stimulation for them. So different teaching ways such as singing, playing games, role-play will be used to help them learn English through different interesting ways.
Ⅲ. The analysis of the teaching objectives:
According to the New English Curriculum and the cognitive development of the students, I set the teaching objectives as following:
1. Let the Ss. know the name of the animals: cat, bird, dog, duck, rabbit Know the meaning of ‘I have a …’and can say it freely .
2. Some toys of the words will be learn The pictures of the animals will be learn.
Ⅳ. The important and difficult points:
1. The important point: Let the students learn the pronunciation of the words: cat, bird, dog, duck.
The difficult point: the sentence,” What’s this?” and “ What’s that?”
Ⅴ. The analysis of teaching methods: Task-based teaching method, communicative language and situational approach. That is to say, the teacher will let the students learn in a real situation. According to the theory of learning by doing, the teacher will set a task like greeting to make students use the new knowledge in a real situation. The activities like singing, playing a game, chant will also be used.
Ⅵ. The teaching aids: the multimedia, pictures of people in the book, CIA.
Ⅶ. The teaching procedure:
1) Warming-up
a. Revise the words of the body and sing the song .
(Let them remember all the words. )
b. Play the game :who is more quickly.
Ask two Ss.come to the front and do the action the teacher say.
(Such as,touch the nose and so on.)
Let the Ss.see who is the first one.Give the decals.
2) Presentation:
a. The teacher say ‘Today is so fine , let’s go to the zoo.’
Let all the Ss.read the word a ‘Zoo’and correct them one by one.
Then take out a bird toy and say ‘Look! Bird.’and then let the Ss.read after the teacher .
Correct them one by one.
Then put the toy down and wave the arm like a bird and say bird.
Let the Ss.do the same thing with the teacher.
b. Teacher all the word in the same way.
And then put all the toy away.
Just let the Ss.say the words when the teacher do the actions.
c. Tell the Ss.do the practice in pairs:one do the action the other say the word.
d. Then take out a toy .Take bird for example ,say to the Ss. ‘I have a bird’
Let the Ss.read all the sentence especially the words ‘have’ the character ‘v’s pronunciation.
3) Practice:
a. Game:
First the teacher do the action and let the Ss.guess.
And then let a student come to the front to do the action.Let all the Ss.and the teacher guess it.
We can tell the Ss.to do some new actions means the same meaning of the words.
Have a look who have the newest idea.
b. Then the teacher do an action and say ‘I have a …’
Then let the Ss do it in pairs. Pay attention to the pronunciation of ‘have’.
