Review: Free talk(2’)
To show a picture of panda and then ask: Do you know what is it?
To ask: Why pandas are wild animals in danger? (teacher will give some tips, such as the decrease of bamboo forest…)And What will happen in the future? After talking about the future situation,the teacher will give a guidance and say: we can use may to say something is possible.
Lead-in(2’)
How to express the possibility?
And then let students give some examples using “if” to express the possibility.
配合教师回答,图片展示的是熊猫panda,结合所学,思考熊猫数量减少的原因,对熊猫的未来进行猜测。
积极思考以前学过的知识if,思考例句。

讲授新课
Step1: Presentation(6’)
To present the grammar( using may for possibility ) on the blackboard.
Give some examples, to let students know how to use may clearly.
E.g. If we do nothing, soon there may be none left!
The bamboo forests are becoming smaller and smaller. As a result, pandas may not have a place to live or food to eat.
And lead students to translate the result talked about above use may.
Step3: Practice(6’)
Activity 1: Role-play
Let students make conversation in group according to the exercise. They can add something like: where are you? What can you see? What will happen?
Invite two groups to show the dialogue and give some comments or gifts.
Activity 2: Brainstorm
Give some other situations, let students imagine what
will happen and use may to express.
E.g. If we feed the animals in the zoo without limitation, the animals------.
If human hunter the tigers continually, the tigers------.
If human love animals forever, the wild animal------.
Let students think about other similar situations about wild animals and use may to express.
Step4: Presentation(6’)
After talking about so many results, now let look something comfortable.
To show the pictures of different ages of pandas, and give some sentences on page 62, let students find out the main structure of all the sentences.
Let students find the structure we’ll learn next.
Write down the structure verbs+to-infinitives on the blackboard.
Step5: Words and phrases(4’)
Give some verbs will use in next task. And add to-infinitives to rich the meaning of the verbs. For example, the verb “agree”, we can add “agree to have a date” to rich the meaning of the verb. The teacher should give some examples.
Step6: Practice(4’)
Divide the whole class in diffetent groups by seat. And then play a game.
1.Write down the phrases that come to in your mind on the paper. 2.And then pass the paper to the next partner in your group.
3.The last one should translate those phrases in Chinese and read them loudly.
The faster, the better.
Step7: Drill(3’)
Not all the verbs can use this pattern, but these verbs can. To ask if students know the meaning of these verbs. If no, teach them; if yes, finish the next task.
Now let learn more about wild animals and complete the exercise on page 62.
