aid sb. to do sth 帮助某人做某事 vt.aid / help / assist 帮助aid: 较正式,表示“救护”时,用 “aid” 不用“help” 。
help: 含义较广。
assist: 较常用于书面或正式语境中,
常意味着协助某人做某事、当某人的助手A dictionary is an aid for learning a new language.字典对学一门新语言有帮助。2. temporary adj. 暂时的;临时的

情上的伤害。
harm: 指精神或肉体的极大伤害,多用于有
生命的东西,也可用于抽象事物,如
健康、权利、事业等。

e.g.

“a variety of+复数名词”用作主语,谓语要用复数

The variety of goods in this shop is rich.

2)种类,品种;(植物、语言等的)变种,变体【C】
