教案
教学目标
1) 进一步熟练掌握将来时---will,be going to 的两种表达方式。
2) 设计英语调查表,家里谁种花,如何种,有哪些花,培养学生的观察力及语言表达能力。
3) 设计英语调查表,家里谁种花,如何种,有哪些花。培养学生的观察力及语言表达能力。
4) 谈谈植物的作用,并培养学生的环保意识,增强学生的英语语言运用能力。
教学重点与难点
1) 教学重点:掌握有关种植植物所需的相关条件的单词:grow, pot, soil, light, large, happen, root, bee, wind等。
2) 教学难点:掌握以下句型并能灵活运用:
What does it need? It needs…
How often should we water the plants? We should water…
What will happen? It will grow…
教学过程
Period 1
Step I Warm- up
1 Review the units learnt before.
a. When do you get up everyday?
b. How often do you brush your teeth?
c. How often do comb your hair?
d. What are good habits?
2 Lead- in. Take out two pots of plants .One is in the soil, the other is in the water. Introduce them as new comers to the kids.
“Hello, nice to meet you. We are plant A and plant B. We are sisters. Do you want to know something about us?
I am plant A and I live in water. I need water and sunlight.
I am plant B and I live in the soil. I need soil and sunlight.
Step II Presentation
1. T: What do these two plants need?
They need water, sunlight, pot and....
Teacher points to the objects above and help the kids to read them.
2. Teacher takes out the word cards: a little water, a lot of water, a small pot, a large pot, a little light and a lot of light. Students read after the teacher twice.
3. Ask the kids to watch and read part A.
T: I want to grow some new plants.
What do the plants need?
Ps: soil, pot, water, and light
Period 2
Step I Warm- up
1. Guessing the picture. Who is a lucky dog?
Show pictures of the words learnt before. Then let the kids guess which picture I am going to show. The winner will get a lucky star.
2. Question guiding. Students ask for each other.
a. What subjects do you have?
b. Do you like science?
c. What do you often do in science class?
d. Do you like science experiment?
Step II Lead- in
1. Watch the video.
The children are doing an experiment. Let’s see what is going on.
2. Show the key sentences on the blackboard and the kids should copy them. Lead the kids read them twice and practice using them.
a. What will happen?
b. It will die. It will grow slowly/quickly.
3. Talk about the pictures showed on the screen. Do a similar experiment as B1.
The children are doing an experiment. Let’s see what is going on.
Teacher: Give this plant a little water everyday.
Guess. What will happen?
Ss: They will grow quickly.
Teacher: Give this plant a lot of water once a week.
Guess. What will happen?
Ss: It will grow slowly.
Teacher: Give this plant a little water once a month.

Ss: It will die.
Period 3
Step I Greetings
Step II Lead- in.
1) Ask the kids to chant part G.
2) Learn part C.
A) Show big pictures of a seed, a plant, some rain, a sun, a flower, two bees, wind, soil and other new green plants.
Teacher: What is this?
Ss: It is a seed / a plant/ a sun/ a flower/ wind/soil.
Teacher: What are these?
Ss: They are two bees / some new plants.
B) Teacher shows how a plant grows by using the pictures above step by step.
Teacher: First, seeds fall on the ground.
Then, it needs sun and rain and it grows.
Next, a flower grows.
After that, bees come to the flower.
The wind comes and blows the new seeds to new soil.
At last, new plants grow.
C) Play the video “Koko loves English”-----“A TV show”.
D) Help the kids to finish part D. Number the sentences.

E) Give the pictures to different students and ask them to act according to what I say.
I say “seed”, the student with picture “seed” stands up, then the other students describe “seeds fall on the ground”
I say “sun and rain”, the student with picture “sun and rain” stands up. The other students say “The seed needs sun and rain.”
I say “two bees,” the student with picture “two bees” stands up.
The other students say “The bees come to the flower.”
I say “wind”, the student with picture “wind” stands up, then the other students say “The wind takes the new seeds to new soil.”
I say “new and green plants”, students with picture “new and green plants” stand up. The other students say “New plants grow again.”
Homework
1. Make up the dialogues according to the pictures on page 37.
2. Recite part A.
3. Make up the dialogues according to the pictures on page 38.
4. Recite part B1.
5. Have a good pre-revision about part C.
6. Retell the story to your parents.
