一、教材内容分析
Just read and talk
本部分以Lisa搬到一个新小区居住,由于不熟悉路况向Kate问路为主题情境,引出要学习的目标语言Go down this street and turn right at the traffic lights. Then you can see the bookshop on the left.通过师生、生生之间的对话,学生自主感知、模仿、理解和体验,学会运用表示问路、指路等功能的语句在真实语境中进行交际。
二、学生情况分析
本节课是在学生已经学习了第七课、第八课的基础上,学生能介绍自己居住小区场景的创设,并能使用There be句型对建筑物的方位进行交流,在此基础上,本节课进行问路、指路等功能语句的学习与运用,对于大多数同学来说,难度不是很大,因此本节课的教学方法主要采用任务型教学方法,学生提出问题,解决问题。
三、教学目标
1. 大部分同学能够使用句型:Go down this street and turn right at the traffic lights. Then you can see the bookshop on the left.对路线进行表达。
2. 大部分同学能够通过关于如何问路、指路的讨论和学校,注意到汉语与英语表达方位、方向的不同语序和习惯,从而更深刻地感悟英语的学习。
3. 大部分同学能够通过本话题的学习,培养学生热爱家乡和自己居住的社区的积极情感,以及热情、礼貌待人、乐于助人的态度。
四、教学重难点
教学重点:
使学生能够在真实的语境中,灵活运用句型:Go down this street and turn right at the traffic lights. Then you can see the bookshop on the left.来对路线进行表达。
教学难点:
句型How long does it take to go there?的理解、模仿和表达。
五、教学步骤
Step 1 热身/复习(Warm-up/ Revision)
看图,复习词汇及句型。(Sharp eyes)
利用课件出示第八课中的重点单词以及短语,学生复习有关的建筑物名称,并对建筑物方位使用句型“There is …”进行交流。
设计意图:通过看图游戏复习已学单词与句型,为本节课的教学进行铺垫。
T: Good morning, boys and girls.

课件出示建筑物名称及位置。
Step 2 新课呈现(Presentation)
视听展示,初步感知文本
课件出示本课主要人物,通过师生对展示内容的讨论与猜测引发学生求知的兴趣。看听动画,通过回答问题:What are they talking about? 让学生对文本的内容有一个整体的了解。
预设:学生有可能不会表达整体文本的内容,教师可以以选择的方式给学生两个选项,降低学生的理解难度。

Who are the girls?
What are they talking about? Guess.
Are they talking about their school? Are they talking about their community?
再次看听动画,深入了解对话。
首先让学生对Lisa提出自己想要了解的问题,教师整理学生的问题后,让学生通过观看本课动画,尝试自己解决这些问题。在解决这些问题的同时,教师板书展示书店的路线图,并引导学生对去书店的路线进行表达。

路线表达: Where is the bookshop? Look. Go down this street and turn right at the traffic lights. Then you can see the bookshop on the left.
突破难点语言
通过对去书店路线的表达与交流,教师自然过渡到对交通工具的选择以及所需时间的预测,从而引出难点句型:How long does it take to go there? 的理解、模仿和表达。
T:Lisa will go there on foot. How long does it take to go there on foot? It takes about ten minutes. How long does it take to go there by bike?
S: About … minutes.

设计意图:首先通过交流图片内容,引出Lisa和Kate之间对话的背景,即Lisa刚搬到Kate居住的小区,由于不熟悉小区的情况,所以向Kate打听去书店的路,从而对本课对话有更深一步的了解。因此,教师根据学生的实际生活经验,引导学生自己提出自己可能遇到的问题,并自己解决,锻炼了学生自主学习的能力,充分调动了学生的学习积极性。
Step 3 趣味操练(Practice)
利用挂图,操练语言。
利用第七课挂图,操练本课目标语言:Where is …? Go down … Then you can see … 学生在熟悉的场景个操练目标语言,便于理解和掌握。可以利用人物图片置于图片中的某一个位置,便于学生更加清晰地进行表达。
模仿录音,配音表演。
利用课件再次整体听、跟读模仿本课课文,形式可以采用模仿录音语音、语调跟读,分组朗读课文或者给人物配音等。小组内操练,小组间课堂展示并相互进行评价,选出最佳小组,并利用手机录音或录像,以此增加学生对英语朗读的兴趣。
Step 4 拓展(Production)
教师利用实物投影展示自己本小区的照片,带领同学参观,为同学们指路。让学生根据教师的示范,结合学生自己小区所画的简图或照片,小组内自创小对话,并全班展示交流。引导学生对其评价。
Step5 小结(Summary)
引导学生对本节课的知识目标进行小结,并交流重点目标语言的表达方式,综合运用所学内容。
作业设计:

本单元的活动中的话题十分接近学生的日常生活。教师可以鼓励学生通过书籍或网络获取更多关于此类内容的词汇,为下节课做准备。高年级的孩子的逻辑思维比较强,写作能力已经达到一定水平,教师可以给学生适当的机会,鼓励他们将本节课的所学以作文的方式进行梳理。在下节课时,给学生们“美文欣赏”的机会。

引导学生对本节课的知识目标进行小结,并交流重点目标语言的表达方式,综合运用所学内容,注意对学生掌握本课的语言知识和语言技能等情况进行评价。

六、教学反思
在本课的教学中,我通过温故知新引出本课新知,通过创设接近实际生活的各种语境,采用循序渐进的语言实践活动一步一步的带领学生不断完善本课的知识体系,学习操练新词汇、句型、对话和课文。在教学过程中,我注重寓教于乐,在学习知识的同时穿插歌曲、游戏、表演、听力抢答、段落复述、小组竞赛、填词练习等多种教学活动;同时注重新知识的拓展与活用,通过造句、变换有关地点的词汇重新编对话等形式,使学习外语的过程不再是枯燥的背诵和记忆的过程,而是一个积极主动的学习过程,一个不断提高语言运用能力和人文素养的过程,使学生在英语学习中得到了快乐。

Step 1 Warm-up
①Show some place pictures: bank bookshop hotel clothes supermarket hospital Let students speak them one by one.
②Show pictures of some prep words: in on beside near between behind...
③ Look at the word cards read aloud and make up sentences with some of them.
④Look at some pictures say sentences with: there be and the phrases: next to, near.
Step 2 Revision:
Teacher will write on the blackboard: There is a___ ___the ___. Practice some times. When students speak “supermarket”, Teacher ask, What do you buy from supermarket? They will answer蔬菜,水果等等,进而go on to revision :vegetable, health food. Let the students listen and drill. (适时教育学生养成健康的饮食习惯,杜绝垃圾食品)

First, let the students listen, then repeat. At last, drill by themselves.
Ask some pairs to do asking and answering.
Look at the picture of Susan’s community, then talk it in groups with the prep words.
⑤Play a game “A Good Driver”
让学生把课前自己画好的社区图片,贴到黑板上,记住自己的位置,找几个同学扮演司机去接同学上学,同学告诉司机Hello, I’m Li Yan, I’m here. It’s between a bookshop and a bank.司机根据图示,回答,Oh, you are in a hotel.回答正确的司机在hotel下面画个圆圈,证明接到了学生,并且获得了good driver 的奖励。如果,司机不能接到学生,那么也可以求助其他同学扮演售票员,从而成功的完成任务。

People sometimes like to read stories of dogs very much. They think that dogs are much cleverer than cats, sheep, cows or other animals in their homes. One of my close friends, Bob, has a very large police dog named Jack. Every Sunday afternoon, Bob and Jack have a walk in the park nearby. Jack likes these walks very much. One Sunday afternoon, I paid a visit to my friend. I stayed there for a long time and my friend and I had much more talk with each other than ever before. Soon it was time for them to take a walk in the park. We forgot that. Jack became worried about it. He walked around the room several times and then sat down in front of me and looked at me. But I still paid no attention (注意) to him. I went on talking with my friend. At last, Jack could not wait any longer. He went out of the room and came back a few minutes later.
