【教学目标】
1. 在听说训练中,学生能够掌握本课重点词汇和短语:short hair, curly hair, long hair, straight hair; tall, medium height, medium build,thin, heavy等。要求95%的孩子熟练掌握单词及短语。
2. 通过听说训练,理解并掌握以下句型的结构及意义,初步掌握描述人的外貌的句型:要求90%的孩子达标掌握句型。

3. 学生能基本听懂含有本课重点词汇和目标语言的听力材料。初步了解听前预测的技巧,并在听的过程中学会关键词,做到有目的地获取有效信息。要求85%的孩子听力技巧提高。
4. 通过学习描述外貌,培养学生的观察能力,并学会欣赏别人的长处和优点,增进同学友谊。要求90%的孩子会用所学句型描述自己熟悉和喜欢的人物的外貌。作业,用所学句型描述自己的朋友或家人,加强巩固练习所学句型,学以致用。

【教学进程】Teaching procedures
一 Before class: An English song.
Sing an song ,这首歌曲与本节课所学内容描述人物外貌相关,唱歌既能提高孩子们的学习兴趣,又能对本节课的学习起到热身作用,这首歌节奏感强,孩子们很容易朗朗上口,导入新课自然。
二 Teaching
Step 1: Presentation
1. Play a game,change clothes for the superman.引导学生学习有关外貌的单词和短语。如:tall, short, medium height, short hair, curly hair, long hair, straight hair, thin, heavy...(孩子们在非常感兴趣的游戏中就学习了本节课的单词和短语,寓教于乐,课堂不枯燥,孩子们是在期待超人的奇怪发型中带着好奇而学到了新知识。)
2. 超人是What does he look like?一个句型引入,孩子们大体了解掌握单数形式。再引出一对双胞胎,导入What do they look like?
Step2 .Learning
利用ppt,引导孩子们学会分别从身高和体型两个方面描述人的外貌。
Height: 姚明,刘德华,潘长江身高的巨大反差,让孩子们一看画面就知道所学,浅显易懂,tall/short/of medium height。
Build: 的教学设计也是如此, thin/heavy/fat/of medium build.生动活泼,浅显易懂。
Step3 Thinking
学而思,启发孩子们思考总结分别从height/build/hair/face等方面回答What does he look like?,引导学生描述人的长相。(启发式教学)
三 Drill practice
Step1 listen a song . 让孩子们听一首歌曲,里面涉及到谈论自己的老师的长相,让孩子们上课过程放松一下,从而过渡到本课句型的操练。
Step2 Drill practice
让学生小组讨论描述自己熟悉的老师的外貌,让学生对话题感兴趣。

并对孩子们的表现,给予切当的鼓励评价。
Step3Teamwork
让孩子们两人一组,讨论自己喜欢的演员的外貌描述,加强对句型的练习和掌握。

对于表现好的小组,给予加分鼓励。

Step1. 1a通过自读、找读、齐读等不同方式让学生熟练朗读1a中的单词和短语。
单词与图片人物搭配,并核对答案。
(设计意图:图片直观教学,形象的人物图片突破重点相关单词,激发学生的兴趣与想象力,课堂氛围轻松,课堂效率较高。活动中关注语音教学,帮助学生正确发音,为下一步的听力和口语表达扫除了障碍,树立了学生学习英语的信心。)
Step 2 1b Listening
Before listening
认真观察la图片,在车站门口的几个男孩身边简单注明描述外貌的单词。
如:h注明tall,curly hair。学生自读la图片不完整对话。
While listening
1. 播放录音,把la图片中的对话补充完整。注意有关外貌的关键词,找到Amy的朋友。
2. 齐读描述Amy朋友外貌的句子。
3. 再播放录音,跟读时注意对话中的重读单词。如:
He has curly hair. o o O O
(设计意图:通过听的方式关注有关外貌的单词,帮助学生在听力过程中学会抓关键词。跟读录音,模仿重读单词,让学生学说最纯正的语言。)
After listening 观察与思考
1. 观察“Is he short or tall?”这个句子,它是选择疑问句不是一般疑问句,此类型句式特点为Is/Are/Do/Does/…or…?即在一般疑问句句尾添加or和另一个选择项,引导学生在朗读时掌握正确语调及其正确答语。
2. 观察la和1c中描述人的外貌的句子,如:He’s really tall. And he has curly hair.在描述外貌的形容词前用is或are(be动词),在描述外貌的名词前用has或have。
五 listening and speaking 2a 2b 2c
Step 1 Before listening
1. 让学生快速自读三个问题,引导学生掌握选择疑问句用法。
2. 找出三个人名:David,Sally和Peter,并找出对应的描述其外貌的单词。(设计意图:听前应快速浏览听力要求,充分分析听力材料,可以使学生熟悉话题,进行热身,激活背景知识,明确任务要求,扫除听力障碍,使听的活动做到有的放矢。)

1. 分别播放录音,听三个对话,分别完成问题l,2,3。

Step3 After listening 模仿秀:听录音跟读,注意重读单词、选择疑问句等句子的语音语调。
(设计意图:初一的新生模仿能力尤其强,在学生跟读对话时,教师的指导要及时到位,要关注语音的训练,以便学生拥有纯正的语音语调。)
六Game
Choose one to answer. 总共六组,孩子们特别感兴趣,期待自己选的那一组,到底描述谁,充满好奇和期待感。里面有描述自己的同学、朋友、喜欢的人物等等。

一、让学生先自主学习,再以小组的方式展开讨论总结收获:

(2)描述外貌的句型有哪些?你能说出描述外貌时何时用be和have/has吗?
二、老师总结:
本节课我们主要学习了“描述外貌”的核心句型,如:

2. 根据本课所学内容,描述你的家人的外貌,
提示:注意人称的变化。

【教学反思】
本节课学习的词汇、短语较多,学生接受起来难免会混淆,所以教学活动设计应尽可能生动有趣,贴近学生实际生活,使他们始终保持积极性、主动性和旺盛的求知欲,多记忆,多理解。本节课的听说读写设计都是围绕谈论人物外貌长相这一句型,重点明确,孩子们一节课下来,句型掌握到位,这是一堂成功精彩的英语课。本节课是基础课,既包括词汇、语音、句型的学习,又涉及一般选择疑问句语法的初步理解和运用,因此课堂结构较繁琐,任务较重,教师没有过多关注基础薄弱的学生,致使部分学生出现了兴趣点低、精力不集中、思维明显分的状况。因此,建议本节课对于句型及语法的教学,应注重训练及应用实践,不能过多地涉及语法的讲解。
