1. Analysis of the Students
The students of Grade4 have mastered certain vocabularies, expressions and structures. They also have the abilities of working in groups. Most of them are willing to express their opinions in English as well as act the dialogue out.
2. Analysis of Teaching Content
Lesson 3 is the third lesson in Unit 1, Book 8.This unit focus on the subject Days and Months, Lesson 3 mainly talks about the months of the year. It conclude month and ordinal numeral, it demand students can describe the date.

1.To master the words: January, February, March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October, November, December.
2. To master the sentence: What’s the date?

Improve the students’ ability of speaking, listening, reading and writing.

Stimulate interest in learning English, and development of the students’ ability of using synthetic language.

Step 1. Warm-up
1.Greeting:
T:Hello,everyone. How are you?
Ss: Fine, thank you. How are you?
T: I`m fine, thanks. Nice to see you again.
Ss: Glad to see you again.
Enjoy a song: The Months. (Let Ss guess what are we going to learn.)
Step 2. Presentation
Explain the new words with the pictures. (Monday to Sunday)
T: Can you say this month in English?
Ss: It’s January.
T: January is the first month of the year.
Explain the abbreviation of these seven words.
T: These words are so long, can you remember?
Follow to the tape
Read by themselves.
Write the words down twice.
Step 3. Practice
Play a game: Bingo.
Group work:
Ss practice the dialogue in group on page 6.
T: Look! What are they talking about? Let’s look!
A: Can you say this month in English?
B: February.
A: Yes, February is the second month of the year.
A: What about this month?
B: It's September.
T: Now make your own dialogue.
Show time.
Step 4. Consolidation
Group work: What’s the date.
T show three people and let students guess what are they talking about. Then practice in group.
