Unit 1 Days and Months Lesson 5 When Is It?
1. Analysis of the Students
The students of Grade4 have mastered certain vocabularies, expressions and structures. They also have the abilities of working in groups. Most of them are willing to express their opinions in English as well as act the dialogue out.
2. Analysis of Teaching Content
Lesson 5 is the fifth lesson in Unit 1, Book 8.This unit focus on the subject Days and Months, Lesson 5 mainly talks about some festivals. It demands students can introduce the dates of some festivals. As well as the pronounce of “ay” and “wh”.

Step 1. Warm-up

Step 2. Presentation

Follow to the teacher. Practice the words.
Write the words down twice.

Teacher show some festivals and practice the dialogue with your partner.

Step 4. Consolidation

Show the pronounce on page 11. Let students read by themselves and find what the same.
Explain the pronounce about “ay” and “wh”.
