教学目标:
【知识目标】
1、能认读、掌握、灵活运用单词: player, game, team, win。
2、理解并会朗读短文。
【能力目标】发展学生综合运用语言的能力,培养学生自主探究的能力及与同学的分工合作的能力。能用所学词汇和句子简单描述一场比赛。
【情感目标】培养学生的竞争意识,体会队员之间的合作精神。通过游戏、竞赛等多种活动,培养生学习英浯的兴趣,让学生充分体验成功的快乐,増强学好英语的自信心。同时激励比赛落后者,使其不气馁。
重点难点:
【教学重点】重点单词和句型的理解和掌握。
【教学难点】创设语言情境,运用重点单词和句型。在情境中交流表演,实现语言的综合运用。

教学过程:
Step1. Warm-up
1. Sing a song. What did you do?
2. Play a game. (guessing words)
T: How are you today? Ss: …
T: Let’s play a game. You are blue team and you are orange team.
3. T: Do you like a basketball game?
Ss: … T: Now let’s watch a basketball game

Step 2. Presentation
1. Talk about the pictures, learn these words: player, a basketball game, team.
2. Read the conversation on Page10. Then answer the questions.
What did Jenny and Li Ming do this evening?
They watched Bob play basketball.
Which team Did Bob's team play with?
His team played with the Orange Team.
Who won the game?
Bob's team.
Does Bob play basketball every day?
No, he doesn’t.
Is Bob a good player?
Yes, he is.
Did they have fun?
Yes, they did.
3. Play the recording, read and repeat the conversation on page10.
Step 3. Drills
1. Listen to the conversations on Page10 again and check the words you hear.

Step 4. Practice
Look at the pictures on page11. Pay attention to the past tense. Students work in pairs, ask and answer.
What game did you play? Where did you play the game? When did you play the game? Which team won?
Look and write. Write an email using the words in the box.
Step 5. Summary and evaluation
1. Read and repeat the key words.
2. Go through the key sentences.
3. Ask the students to give themselves an evaluation.
Step6. Homework
1. Read the passage on page10, try to retell it.
2. Finish the e-mail to your friend.
