教学过程:
Step1. Warm-up
1.Talk about the picture of a book《Tree days to see》. Do you know the book? Do you know the writer? If you are blind and deaf, how will you feel? Lead the students know about Helen Keller.
Step 2. Presentation
Fast reading. Looking at the pictures, students go through the passage quickly, then answer this questions: What was Helen Keller? (She was a writer.)
Was she healthy? (No, she was deaf and blind.)
Intensive reading. Read the story on Page12 carefully. Then answer the questions.
When and how did Helen Keller become deaf and blind?
When she was 18 months old, she fell ill and became deaf and blind.
Could her parents help her?
No, they didn’t. They did not know how to help her.
Why did Helen often get angry?
Because she couldn't see anything, she couldn't hear anything, and she couldn't speak at all.
Was Helen’s teacher great?
Yes, she was.
Did Helen work hard?
Yes, she did.
What can you learn from Helen Keller?
Always be full of hope for life.
3. Play the recording, read and repeat the story.
