Zhang Jian, a great person, built many schools and set up some factories in Nantong many years ago. People say it was he that made Nantong so beautiful.
Chinese people call Nantong “the first modern city of China” because of its beauty and culture.

In the south of the town is the Taizi Hill. On the top of it, you can enjoy the beautiful view of the Yangtze River. Many local people gather there to celebrate the Spring Festival. It’s well worth a visit.
In the middle of the city is the Yezi River. There are many trees in different shapes along the river. Many tourists like to take a boat trip along it or ride a bike around it. It is pretty and charming at night. FangXudong, a great person, built many schools and set up some factories in Dachang many years ago. People say it was he that made Dachang so beautiful.
In history, Dachang is praised as “the first modern city of China “.
