with Harry, Lo?He doesn’t understand
why people don’t want
to talk to him.Know more about body language If an American is satisfied with you, he will put his thumb
and forefinger into a circle. That means OK. But in Brazil,
people think it is rude. In many countries, “thumbs up”
means approval (同意). People thought it was impolite but
now it usually means OK or alright. In German, it just means
the number“one”. Usually, we nod to express our
agreement and shake our heads to mean“no”. To our
surprise, these body gestures mean the opposite in
Bulgaria. The differences in customs and cultures in the
world are really clear. We should learn more about them to
avoid embarrassment ( 窘迫). Then, please
remember: When in Rome, do as the
Romans do.Do you know the meanings of the following gestures ?Stop! Come here. You are very good. / Well done! It’s ok.Bye-bye. Act and GuessNow, it’s your turn Go away !

the expressions on your faceDo you know the meanings of the following facial expressions ?surprised/astonishedshyhappy People from different parts of the world use different body languages. Sometimes the same body language in different countries has different meanings. People use gestures to communicate with each other. It is very interesting.
The gesture for OK has different meanings in different cultures. In Japan, it means money. But in France,
it means zero. However, in Germany, the gesture
is rude.
Even the gestures for “yes” and “no” are different
around the world. In many countries, shaking one’s
head means “no”, and nodding means “yes”. But in Bulgaria, Iran and parts of Greece, nodding means “no”.Body languageWhat do you know about …?Look at the pictures below and match them with the adjectives from the box.
