Unit 1 I was two then.
【教学目标】
识别单词:was, then, grandparent, were, young, old, hair, so, short, long能拼写2-3个自选词语。
能口头运用I was two .They were young , then .这类语句谈论过去的情况,对比过去与现状的不同之处。
【学情分析】
本节课的教学对象是小学四年级的学生。他们经过一年多的英语学习,已经初步掌握了一些单词和句型。在日常生活中能用英语进行简单的对话交流。而且他们活泼好动,好奇性强,参与性高。
【重点难点】
重点;能运用所学知识描述过去和现在发生的变化。
难点:会区别was-is/am, were-are的用法。
【教学过程】
Step 1: Warm-up
1. Greetings :
T: Good morning, boys and girls. Ss: … .
T: How are you today? Ss: … .
T: What’s the weather like today? Ss: It’s … .
T: Is it a nice day? Ss: Yes, it is.
T: So today I’m very happy. Are you happy?
Step 2: Presentation:
1.Look and talk about them:
教师出示一些图片或实物让学生说出其特点,复习学过的形容词:cute, tall, fat, thin, big, small, strong,引出新单词short, long, young, old.
2. T: Well done. You are so clever. (学习新单词so,举例: short-so short, tall-so tall)
3.出示教师的照片:
And look at this photo. Who is this little girl? Can you guess?
S1:…?S2:…?S3:It’syou.
T:Yes, you are right. It’s me. In this photo, I was 1 then. I was short and fat then. But now, (指着自己)I am tall and thin.
板:I was fat/short then. Now I am thin/tall.
告诉学生:在西方国家,描述他人长得胖用“fat”会很不礼貌,应该用“big”或“chubby胖乎乎的”。
T:What’s different for me?指着自己的头发说:Look, my hair was short, then. Now my hair is long.(学习新单词hair)
4. Look, 出示Sam图片,Who’s he?他一岁时是什么样的呢?(学习活动1)告诉学生在谈论自己过去的情况时要用was,谈论现在的情况时要用am.
5. How about you?让学生说说自己的变化。
I was______ then. Now I am _____.
Step 3:The text.
1. 出示Lingling小时候的照片:And how about this girl? Who is that little girl?让学生猜测并回答。
What was Lingling then? Please listen and choose:
(听活动2,选择Lingling过去的情况。)

2. How about Lingling’s hair?
(再听,选择Lingling的hair有什么变化.)
3. Lingling还介绍了谁?他们有什么变化?Who can you see in the photos?
讲解“grandparents”:告诉学生grandparents是grandma和grandpa的总称。
What were Lingling’s grandparents, then?
再听,学习, [They were young , then . ]
How about now? [They are old. ]
4. 教师出示自己父母过去的照片向学生介绍:
This is my parents. Look, they were young then. But now (换成现在的照片) they are old.
板书:They were young then. Now they are old.
告诉学生在谈论过去的情况时要用were, 谈论现在的情况时要用are.

1. 让学生通过观察两个句型,总结出“was”“were”的用法:
都用于讲述过去的情况,was用于单数,were用于复数。
2. 完成填空:was were

In the photo, Lingling _____ two.
Lingling’s hair _____ so short, then.
Lingling _____ cute and naughty, then.
3. Cna you guess: Who is this?
T: Ok, boys and girls. Let's play a guessing game,OK?
出示班上同学小时候的照片,引导学生描述当时的情况。

T : Who is he/she , can you guess ?
让学生猜,再请该生起立:How about now ?
Ss: He is … .
4. Let’s say: (活动四)
让学生运用过去时讲述照片中人、物的变化。
