一.【教材分析】
(一)教学目标
1. 知识目标
通过“记忆力挑战”,“句子翻译”以及“自由讨论”三项活动,来复习巩固第二单元所学重要短语及句型。
2. 能力目标
通过课前热身活动,以巩固,提高学生正确运用本单元词汇,句型的能力。
通过模仿,学生能够按要求写简单的自荐信。
(二) 教学方法
1. 任务教学法。
2. 在读,说,写结合的基础上提高写作。
3. 范文引路,限时作文,师生共评,学生合作互评。
二.【教学流程】
Step1 Pre-writing
1. Warming-up. Ask students to memorize as many of the phrasal verbs in Unit2 as they can in two minutes.

【设计意图】这个步骤的主要目的是为了激发学生的学习热情,使学生能够迅速进入状态,同时也复习巩固了本单元重点词组,为后面写自荐信提供词汇。
2. Say something about volunteer work by translating Chinese into English.
⑴我擅长唱歌。
⑵我想帮忙打扫城市公园。
⑶当志愿者可以帮我获得我理想的工作。
⑷她可以做她喜欢做的事,同时帮助他人。
⑸人们有空在周末时做志愿者工作。
⑹他人的帮助能给我们生活带来改变。
【设计意图】这个步骤的设置是考虑到第一任务简单,因此,此环节“翻译句子”的目的是想提高学生对重点词组的语用能力。
3. Ask students to talk about volunteer work by using the sentences in 3b.
1. Which volunteer job do you want to do?
I’d like to ... / I’m interested in ...
I want to volunteer as …
2. What are your interests and hobbies?

【设计意图】这一步骤的设置的目的是:希望学生通过老师展示的图片,选择自己感兴趣的“志愿者工作”进行交流,既提高了口语交际能力,同时学生之间可以通过对话,相互纠错,共同提高,也为后面的写作提供句型。
Step2.While-writing
Ask Ss read and talk.

【设计意图】这一步骤的设置目的是:通过使用学生非常熟悉的“十堰晚报”招收志愿者的方式,来吸引学生的眼球,使得学生写作的兴趣更浓;同时明确写作内容和要求。
Sample writing
Dear Sir or Madam,
I’m writing to tell you about volunteering at the library. My name is Mingming, I’m 14. I’m interested in computers and teaching, and I want to volunteer as a computer teacher .
I love working with computers and I’m good at teaching how to use computers well. And I like to help people to enjoy computers as much as I do, so I think I’ll be good at this job.I want to help out as a volunteer at your library because I know many people go there to use your computers.
I’m free to help on weekends and during holidays. Hope to hear from you soon!

【设计意图】这一步骤的设置目的是:通过典型的范文展示,学生读,讨论等活动,使学生明确英语作文也应该包含三大部分:开头,正文,结尾;同时引导学生尽量使用课标词汇,鼓励学生拓展以丰富写作内容。
Step3 After-writing
The teacher with students check one of the letters students wrote on the blackboard.
Ask another student to check the other letter on the blackboard, the rest of the students check each other’s letter by themselves, according to the tips given on PPT.
【设计意图】这一步骤的设置目的是:教师通过批改黑板上的作文,使学生们对英语作文的评价标准有更直观的认识;同时可以将他人的作文与自己的作文进行,找差距,取长补短。
Step4 Homework
Modify(修改) students’ letters again, and then write in exercise books.
