2.1 Fundamental State基本情况
在第一课时的基础上学生已基本掌握了why和where引导的特殊疑问的问句与答语,用because引导答句,说明原因,在本单元的话题下because引导的从句几乎都是系表结构的句子。在第一节听说课的反复操练下,学生已经比较熟悉该句型的用法,上口也较为熟练。因此,本课时的学习任务比较轻松,大部分学生都能参与话题,拓展话题。在语言输出的基础上,教师要把教学的重点落到归纳总结上,对本单元目标句型进行语法梳理,通过Grammar Focus的集中归纳向学生呈现重难点,强调语言结构,在3a、3b的任务中学生的语言学习输出由词过渡到句,最后在3c的任务中完成开放性的语言输出任务,在时间允许的情况下,可以让学生有书面的输出。
2.2 Knowledge Reserve知识储备
学生通过前4个单元的学习,已经能熟练掌握一般现在时态,在本单元“谈论动物”、“谈论喜好”的话题下,通过第一课时的学习,学生已经储备了“Why…? Because….” “ Where are they from? They’re from…. ”的基本句型,在本课时的教学中要求学生能整合前面学习的内容,进行多个话轮的对话输出,并能理解梳理Section A部分的语法知识。
2.3 Class data本班实际
本班学生有比较明确的学习目的,能够在小组活动中互相帮助,积极与他人合作,敢于用英语进行表达。本课时为本单元的第二课时,主要对本单元第一课时所学话题目标语句进行梳理和巩固。以谈论家里的宠物为切入点,呈现并复习基本语句“He’s very smart.” “Why don’t you like her? Because she’s kind of boring.”。本课时主要通过grammar focus句型展示,让学生学会观察并分析,梳理出本单元目标句型的重难点,引导学生理解并掌握由“Why”引导的特殊疑问句的不同人称,肯定和否定句型的构成,夯实“Because”引导答语的语言知识。同时呈现和学习程度副词kind of, very, really,a lot的基本用法。教师应该尽量创设情景,拓展思路,必要时帮助学生用英语进行准确表达。

5.1 Leading-in and warming-up 引入与激趣活动
5.1.1 Play a game: Guessing game
Show pictures of animals, cover a part of each picture, and get the students to guess what the animals are. When the Ss have difficulties guessing, T can help them with some adjectives.

5.2.1 Revision 1) Pair work. Show pictures of animals, and then get the Ss to practice the following sentence patterns in pairs.

2) Ask “What other animals do you know?” In this part, the Ss may talk about the pets they keep at home.
5.2.2 Pre-reading
Ask questions: Do you have a pet? Is it your favorite animal? What can it do?
5.2.3 While-reading
1) Show pictures to introduce Peter’s pet dog and Jenny’s mother’s pet cat. Elicit the phrases in 2d.

2) Get the Ss to talk about Peter’s pet dog and Jenny’s mother’s pet cat.

When the Ss talk about their own pets, ask the Ss to pay attention to their emotions to express pride, love and contempt.

Practice work on 3a
Look at 3a and 3b, ask Ss to fill in the blanks with the words giving.
Ask Ss to read through the dialogue, and fill in the blanks by themselves.
Let Ss exchange and check their answers with each other.

Tips: Be动词后接形容词作表语; 副词修饰形容词时放在形容词前。

One student comes to the front of the classroom, chooses a piece of paper with an animal’s name on it. The other students try to guess what animal it is. When they are guessing, you can ask questions like this:

(本句是why引导的特殊疑问句否定提问的表达,仍然要用Because来引导答语。Why do you like …? 表示“你为什么喜欢……?”当句子里面的助动词变成否定形式时,根据上下文可以表示“你为什么不……?”这个句型表达提出建议,希望得到肯定回答,在这里就仅仅表达对问句的否定,即“你为什么不喜欢那只猫呢?”)
