一、教学内容
本节课的教学内容是人教版七年级下册第五单元Grammar Focus-3c,主题是Why do you like pandas?。课型是语法学习+听说训练。通过本课时的学习,使学生们掌握了why、where引导的特殊疑问句及回答和程度副词,通过描述动物及谈论自己对动物的喜好和原因,让学生充分运用已学的重要句式和词汇谈论动物,巩固学生们对描述性形容词及表达喜好和原因的句式的掌握,并通过拓展听力训练Dear zoo,训练学生捕捉描述性形容词,并在真实语境中运用描述性形容词的能力。

四、教学环节与过程
Step1: Lead-in
1. Ask Ss if they like the film Zootopia and what animals they like best in the film.
2. Encourage Ss to take the challenge to win the tickets to the Zootopia.
(设计目的:学生几天前看过这部电影,特别喜欢这部电影,用这部电影引出本课的话题,并用闯关后能去Zootopia参观的游戏形式,吸引学生参与接下来的课堂活动)
Step2: Brainstorm-word competition
Ask Ss to speak out the animals that they know one by one.
(设计目的:复习学生对动物词汇的掌握,也为接下来要描述动物和表达对动物的喜好等活动打下铺垫。)
Step 3: Speaking 1-describing animals
1. Lead students to describe some animals.
2. Listen to the story “Dear zoo” and finish some exercises.
(设计目的:让学生知道从哪些方面描述动物及掌握描述性形容词的正确使用;通过听故事Dear zoo,训练学生捕捉描述性形容词及训练学生听力能力,这个故事很有趣,可以增加课堂的趣味性。)
Step4: Presentation
Ask Ss to read Grammar Focus and summarize the grammar rules.
(设计目的:让学生通过观察,自己学会归纳本课的语法重点why和where引导的特殊疑问句进行问答及可修饰形容词的三个程度副词kind of,very和really。)
Step4: Speaking 2-talking about your preferences of the animals
1. Group-work: Practice the sentence patterns in Grammar Focus.
2. Finish exercises in 3a and 3b and ask Ss to read out their answers.
3. Play a game “I don’t agree.”, and encourage students to express their opinions.
(设计目的:通过四人小组练习对话,完成3a和3b的练习及I don’t agree.游戏,巩固学生对本课重点句型的掌握,其中I don’t agree.这样的语言操练活动能鼓励学生勇于表达自己的观点,让他们更有成就感。)
Step5: Listening and speaking
1. Watch a clip and answer the questions.
2. Lead Ss to talk about the animals that they like a lot, they like a little and they don’t like at all.
(设计目的:在学生谈论自己对动物喜好前先给学生看一个示范视频,为接下来更顺利的进行口语训练做好铺垫;在口语训练中鼓励学生大胆开口,尽量多用今天所学的词汇和句型。)

Lead Ss to summarize what they have learnt in this period.

Step 7: Homework
1. Write a composition to introduce the animal you like best, the animal you like a little and the animal you don’t like.
2. Interview at least five classmates about their preferences of animals.
