【拓展】 ill和sick都可作形容词, 表示“生病
的, 不舒服的”, 两者都可作表语。

两者作定语时, 表达的意义不一样。

词，又可作连词。作介词时，后接时间
点；作连词时，引导时间状语从句，主
句常用现在完成时，从句用一般过去

我祖父自年轻时起就一直住在北京。sincesince he was youngsince作连词时，有以下用法：
1) 与完成时连用，意思是“自……以后”，其后面引导含一般过去时态的从句。
e.g. I ___________ home but once

我到这里以后只写过一次家信。 sincehave written2) 用于“It has been+ 时间段+since+ 一般过去时态的句子”句型。
e.g. It has been a week _______we arrived
here.
我们到达此地有一个星期了。 since3) 意思是“既然，因为”。

因为我们没钱, 我们买不起(它)。
