一、新设计
Unit1 How tall are you?
Part A Let’s try & Let’s talk
本单元主要学习了一些简单形容词比较级,例如taller, shorter, younger, older, stronger, bigger, heavier, longer等。这些形容词已经基本接触过,在这里进一步学习两个事物如何进行比较,以及形容词比较级的表示法,特别记住一些比较特殊的表示法。本单元的中心话题是询问身边的人或事物的年龄、身高、重量及长度并做比较。本课时主要是涉及自然博物馆中不同种类恐龙的比较,比较他们的身高,引出比较他们的年龄、长度。How tall is it? How old is it? How long is it?
二、学情分析
六年级英语在小学英语教学中起着承上启下的作用。六年级的学生大概处在十二三岁左右,这个阶段的儿童容易为一些新奇刺激的事物所吸引。在记忆方面,这个年龄段的孩子的有意识记逐渐占据主导地位,即使是抽象材料也能花功夫努力记住,并能自觉检查记忆的效果。他们记忆发展的另一特点是从机械识记向意义识记发展。这个阶段儿童思维发展开始从具体形象思维向抽象逻辑思维过渡,但是他们的抽象逻辑思维在很大程度上仍然是直接与感性经验相联系,仍有很大的不自觉性和具体形象性。所以语法的讲解在这个阶段会比较困难,抽象的概念很难被他们接受,教学中我注重通过词句的反复训练和感知来习得语言的综合运用能力。
三、教学目标
1. 能听懂、会说单词hall, meter/meter, than, both。
2. 能听懂、会说句子How tall is it? Maybe 4 meters. That’s the tallest dinosaur in this hall. It’s taller than both of us together. 并能在情景中运用。
3. 能听懂Let’s try,并完成任务。
四、重难点
能听懂、会说That’s the tallest dinosaur in this hall. It’s taller than both of us together. How tall are you? I’m 1.65 meters. 并能在情景中运用。
五、教学过程
活动1【导入】Step1: Warm–up Review
教师活动:
1. Warming-up
(1) Greetings.
(2) Sing a song.
2. Review
(1) Read the words.
To review the key words.
(2) Show a picture of me and ask students to say something about me.
What do you think of me?
(3) Let’s judge.
学生活动:
1. Greeting to each other.
2. Sing the song together.
3. Students look at the screen and say the word loudly.
4. Compare with Miss Zhu, if so, stand up. If not, sit still.
设计意图:通过唱本单元歌曲让学生熟悉形容词比较级。
通过谈论对老师的看法复习形容词。让学生来评判与老师相比谁更高、更年长来复习上节课所学,激发学生学习兴趣。
活动2【讲授】Step 2: Presentation & Practice
教师活动:
1. Let’s guess. Give a riddle for the students and ask them to read.
2. Teach the word “dinosaur”.
3. What do you know about dinosaurs?
4. Show some pictures of dinosaurs.
5. Let’s try. Listen and circle.
6. Talk about the dinosaurs.
7. Compare the teacher, the small dinosaur and the big dinosaur.
8. Ask students to compare with the small dinosaur.
9. Listen and answer: How tall is the tallest dinosaur?
10. Watch the cartoon and answer the questions.
11. Read the dialogue.
学生活动:
1. Students read the riddle and guess it.
2. Say something about dinosaurs.
3. Listen and circle.
4. A: The second dinosaur is taller than the first one.
B: Oh, yes. The first dinosaur is shorter than the second one.
Talk about the two dinosaurs. Which one is taller/stronger/bigger?
5. A: How tall is it? B: Maybe … meters. It’s the tallest.
6. A: How tall are you?
B: I’m ______ meters.

7. Listen and answer.

10. Role play the dialogueue.
设计意图:
通过猜谜导入新课。
谈论对恐龙的认识。
听录音并根据录音内容来创编小对话。
其实就是将长对话分解,降低难度,易于理解。
通过不同形式的小对话来熟记本课对话。
活动3【活动】Step3: Consolidation and extension
教师活动:
1. How to talk about their height, length and age. We can use the words “taller, shorter, longer, shorter, older, younger” to compare them.
2. Ask students to compare the two dinosaurs on the screen.
3. Suggest the students to go to the dinosaur museum on National Day holiday.
4. Homework.
1. Read the dialogue.
2. Act out the dialogue.
3. Make your own dialogue about comparing the things … around … you.
学生活动:
1. How tall is it?

2. Make their own dialogue about comparing the two dinosaurs.

设计意图:给出提示让学生自己能对两种恐龙进行比较,学以致用。鼓励学生国庆假期可以去恐龙园看看,并能用所学来谈论对比恐龙。
